Last Wednesday (May 8, 2013), we got the sad news that Jeanne Cooper passed away from her son Corbin Bernsen. My first exposure to Jeanne wasn't at Kay on "The Young & the Restless", but as Arnie Becker's mom on LA Law.
Reading Corbin's tweets and his Facebook account were extremely touching as he shared how the family dealt with the last days of his mother's life and death. Below is his note about her passing.
Mom passed this morning. She was in peace and without fear. U all have been incredible in your love. In her name share it 2 day with others.

While we don't know how Y&R will handle Kay's death, we do know that the program will honor Jeanne on the May 28, 2013 episode. To find out more about that special episode visit TVGuide.com, as many cast members will share recollections of Jeanne.
The last scene that Jeanne did was apt as she said good night to Jill (Jess Walton). The two were talking and once they finished their conversation, Kay went up the stairs per Brent Boyd who works as a script editor at the program.
The last image of Jeanne Cooper on Y&R is of her ascending the stairs telling Jill, "I think I can manage. Good night." A fitting end.

Thankfully Jeanne was well enough to be part of Y&R's 40th anniversary promotions and we got to see her speak about her time with the show. When I get a chance, I plan on finishing my summary on her memoir and posting it.
Jeanne touched millions of people with her work and her talent. She will be missed by her family, friends and fans.
