"Soap Opera" is novel written by Eileen Fulton, best known as "As the World Turns" Lisa, that was published back in 1999. I was able to pick up a copy in paperback from 2000, at a charity book sale in a local supermarket. Below are my thoughts about the novel and this includes spoilers.

For the 30th anniversary of CBS Daytime being number one, "The Talk" hosted four actors from the following soap operas: "Guiding Light", "As the World Turns", "The Bold and the Beautiful", and "The Young and the Restless". Below are my thoughts about this episode of the show, which aired on October 12, 2016, along with some photos and video clips. Larkin Malloy Passed Away

Today the news came out that multi-soap veteran Larkin Malloy passed away after suffering a heart attack. This came out from his on screen "All My Children" brother Walt Willey.

Agnes Nixon has Died

Earlier today, (September 28, 2016), the news was released that soap creator Agnes Nixon passed away at 93. The writer and creator of many daytime soaps was in the industry from the radio era having a career for over seven decades.

Another classic game show that includes soap stars is posted on YouTube. This video is from December 4, 1979 and aired originally on NBC. The majority of the stars were on that network at the time.

WGA Awards 2016

The WGA posted videos on Youtube of their award ceremony for 2016. Below are embedded links to the ones of interest for the WGA East as they are the branch that covers soap operas. Here is my summary and review of "As My World Still Turns", which is a memoir by Eileen Fulton best known as Lisa on "As the World Turns". The book came out in 1995 and is "the uncensored memoirs of America's Soap Opera Queen." It was with Desmond Atholl and Michael Cherkinian. This is about the first four chapters.

Here is a short entry on "The 'As the World Turns' Quiz Book" - Celebrating Forty Years of the Popular Soap Opera from 1996. The book by Gerard J. Waggett (author of other soap books), A Citadel Press Book was published by Carol Publishing Group. The cover price at the time was $9.95 in the US.

Books about TV: TV Tie-Ins

"TV Tie-Ins" is a scholarly work that explores the evolution of paperback books that were written about particular programs. Written by Kurt Peer, it features both the history of these books (until 1990) along with a master list of every book that was found within this genre. Since this was published in the late 90s, all of this research was a lot more difficult to come by compared to how it could be done today.
