The real life town, which is a bedroom community to New York City, was the fictional home to the clandestine clinic Crichton Clark. The private medical facility was used for cutting edge treatments. Here is a short entry on "The 'As the World Turns' Quiz Book" - Celebrating Forty Years of the Popular Soap Opera from 1996. The book by Gerard J. Waggett (author of other soap books), A Citadel Press Book was published by Carol Publishing Group. The cover price at the time was $9.95 in the US.

Soap Stars in Other Places: 3rd Degree!

3rd Degree! was a short-lived game show hosted by Bert Convy.  The episode discussed below and linked here includes soap opera performers Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor from The Young and the Restless) and Stuart Damon (Alan Quartermaine from General Hospital). The other celebrities were Mark McEwen (who appeared as a game show host on Guiding Light years after this aired) and Marsha Warfield (Roz from Night Court who also was a host).
