B&B First week back July 20 - 24, 2020

This past week "The Bold and the Beautiful" aired their first episodes since the shut down. Below are some thoughts. 

GH: Back in Production - New episodes in August

General Hospital went back to work earlier this week and new episodes are coming August 3. 

GH to begin filming in July

Deadline posted yesterday that General Hospital is scheduled to return to work in the middle of July if nothing changes.

Classic Home and Away on Amazon

One of my newest soap interests is watching home and away on Amazon prime. They have approximately 400 episodes posted from the first two seasons from 1988 and 1989.

Neighbours Resumes Filming

This week "Neighbours" resumed filming in Australia. They are making a change to how they produce the program in this age of social distancing. Below are some links and more information.

Soaps in Depth (Print Edition) Discontinued

The news came out today, that ABC and CBS Soaps in Depth have been discontinued. The magazine title will continue on as a website, but the hard copies will no longer be printed.

B&B & Y&R Out of Episodes

TVLine posted the news, that CBS will run out of new episodes of "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless" after Thursday, April 23, 2020. On Friday, April 24, 2020, reruns will air, and starting on Monday April 27, 2020, themed weeks will be on in their place.

UK Soap Actors Get Compensation during Shutdown

In the UK, all of their soaps are shutdown due to COVID-19. The regular actors weren't getting paid and not eligible for unemployment. Their union stepped in and now they will. <-- more--="">

Deadline shares more on this story situation. I am glad for those who can get some sort of compensation during this difficult time.

Neighbours stopped making new episodes this week and have gone on their Easter holiday per Digital Spy.

Hollyoaks Schedule Changes

In the UK, Hollyoaks isn't being taped as production has shutdown for health and safety reasons.

Soap Shutdowns due to Stay-At-Home Order

All of the current daytime soaps, along with most other television programming in North America is shutdown or being done remotely via webcam. This week, "General Hospital", "The Bold and the Beautiful", "The Young and the Restless" and "Days of Our Lives" are no longer in production.
