AMC: Thoughts on Episode 8

Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episode eight (May 9, 2013) of All My Children.

JR says Mom, Mom, and Dixie says Oh my God and goes to him. Angie and David talk about Cara, and how Cara said how she may be here longer. The security guard keeps David out, as Angie rushes into David's room. JR recognizes Angie. When alone, Dixie tells JR that he was in the hospital for five years. David asks Angie what happened with JR and tells him that JR is away. David asks Angie if your child was taken away by a monster if she could just let it go. Dixie tries to tell JR what happened and he doesn't remember being shot.

Cara fills in Griff about the conversation she had with David. Cara says she knows he didn't buy the lie. After David and Angie spoke, David comes in when Cara says that David will never find out what happened to the baby. He knows there is something more to the story. He goes off on her and says it wasn't a miscarriage, but an abortion.

Cassandra gets two guests, other women who are strung out and were held hostage. Zach and Jesse find a woman in a dumpster. She is barely breathing and really cold. Cassandra starts to realize what situation she is in with her captivity. Angie calls Megan about Cassandra. Cassandra is grabbed and told that it is time for her to earn her keep. Zach finds a Gentlemen's Club matchbook. Angie talks to Megan and finds out Cassandra was on her way home three days ago. Jesse wants to tell Angie what is going on, but she knows something is wrong.

Celia and Pete argue about their miscommunication. Pete calls her a phony and she says that she's glad she realized he was screwing with her before she really fell for him. Celia tells Pete what she overheard and Pete is trying to convince her that she misunderstood. He tells her that he wants her, not anyone else. Celia and Pete are back in her room at Bramwell Hall, after they climbed up the trellis. Pete's face is bleeding due to the rosebush and they almost kiss.

Miranda opens AJ's note. There are petals and she follows them up the stairs. Miranda is looking at the dress that AJ bought for her. She says that there is no way she is going to go to the dance even if she likes the dress. AJ tells Miranda to put on the dress and go downstairs. She opens the box, holds up the dress and decides to wear it. Miranda comes down the stairs and AJ is in a suit. They nearly kiss as he puts on her corsage. She says this is cheesy, but he says she loves it. They go into the Chandler living room, and there is a band.  Hot Chelle Rae plays "Hung Up" for her in a private concert. They dance and hug.

General thoughts about the episode:

While the Chandlers have money, it was on screen magic that AJ was able to get a band like Hot Chelle Rae to appear in his home on such short notice. With the outfit he got Miranda, I wonder if he had help to get the correct size. I liked Celia and Pete better when they are confrontational instead of overly romantic. Cassandra's situation getting more dire was awful, though at least there was forward movement in the story. I hope we get to see Angie go off on Jesse for lying to her again about a child.
