This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.

OLTL: Thoughts on Episode 7
Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episode seven (May 8, 2013) of One Life to Live.
Dorian watches herself resign from the US Senate on her computer screen. Then she says I am Dorian Lord and I don't approve this message. David wants to cheer Dorian up as a courier brings in some boxes. The courier wants a tip, and David gives a verbal one, then Dorian gives him money and David takes the rest while Dorian's back is turned. Dorian looks through her files to see if there is something valuable she can use in the future. Dorian looks at Pellegrino Fund confidential file.
Dani comes in and tells Matthew that she is so pissed about last night. Then she starts checking out their apartment. Jeffrey wants the third room for his office, but Dani wants to move in with them. Jeffrey is in his black underwear. Dani says she'll get a job…and she will cook for them. Matthew isn't sure that everything is right with Dani, but Jeffrey feels like they could watch out for her. Dani gets her key and says she will move in tomorrow. When alone, Jeffrey is still putting together furniture. Viki calls Jeffrey and tells him that she can't hire him for a staff position. Jeffrey says you still doing that in regards to chatting with Michelle on Facebook and then Matthew says you weren't interested.
There is a video feed on Llanfair. Viki and Clint are talking. The last ten years of the Banner have been hard and swallowing up the profits. Clint is looking over Viki's business. She asks how she can make a transition to the digital age, and he says be ruthless start cutting staff.
Natalie and Destiny are at the coffee shop and bump into each other. They have their sons with them. Later Matthew and Clint walk into the coffee shop as Natalie mentions how her parents want her back at Llanfair.
Clint is all excited to see the little ones calling them the most beautiful kids in Llanview, but it is awkward for Matthew. Natalie decides to leave, but Destiny stays behind with Drew. After Clint and Matthew go outside, Matthew gets an earful from his uncle including invoking the names of the other Buchanan men including Asa. He asks if when Matthew looks at him does he feel something. Clint leaves and Matthew looks through window at Destiny and Drew.
Back at Llanfair, Frank a financial guru is speaking to Clint and Viki. Even with her personal holdings invested in the newspaper, she could be insolvent in 6 months. Clint apologizes for the bad news and tried to make her feel better, but not like that. Jeffrey calls Viki and says that he'll stay freelance as she gave him his first chance. Viki says she will find a way out of this mess if it is the last thing she will do.
Todd knocks on Victor's door. They are talking inside and it is awkward. Todd wants a truce, to pretend to be friends for the sake of the kids as Jack completely fell apart when Victor was gone. Todd asks where was he. (Todd wasn't feeling well.) Victor says that Todd should go home to bed. Blair finds out that Jack has been cutting school, and she asks where he has been during the day. Victor comes in and ends up playing video games with Jack and Sam. Todd comes over to tell Blair about the truce. Blair realizes that Todd doesn't look well. She tells him that he can't get Jack by dragging him away kicking and screaming. Victor tells Jack to not cut school, and that he has a positive impact on the teen. Todd is laying on the sofa again and sniffling. Victor knocks at the door, but leaves before Todd gets up there. He drinks some more and then opens the balcony of his hotel room.
General thoughts about this episode:
I wonder if the Pellegrino fund ties into the characters who had the same name years ago, though perhaps that is just a coincidence. Clint lost the chance to raise more than one son, so giving that advice to Matthew made sense. Of course, someone could remember how Matthew as a little one didn't know he was a Buchanan and his father Bo last a few years with him. I liked that Sam and Jack act like brothers even if they are actually cousins. While it was good Blair interacted with Victor in a positive way, I can't believe she didn't have more of a reaction even if it was something like I can tell how happy Tea is that you've come back to her. The comments about Viki's issues with "The Banner" tie into what went on behind the scenes at soaps along with newspapers.
