AMC: Thoughts on Episode 9

Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episode nine (May 13, 2013) of All My Children.

AJ and Miranda discuss playing a video game. She wins, and then gets a baseball. He mentions the good day they had. AJ says he wishes things were different before his father was shot, not that he would wake up from the coma. Later the two of them go downstairs and she leaves with her dress.

Cara tells David she had an abortion. Griff leaves, and Cara and David continue to argue. JR asks Dixie who shot him. Griff comes in as the doctor as Angie is busy with Jesse. JR can't remember what happened, but he knows the most important things like his mom Dixie. David ends up leaving believing the worst. Griff tells Cara that he is glad she stuck to the lie and tells her she did the right thing. Griff shows Cara, JR's medical files as Angie is nowhere to be found. They tell Dixie that due to the shooting JR may be a completely different person. AJ comes in and JR doesn't recognize him.

Bianca and Zach talk about what happened during Miranda's date with Hunter. There is a gag order so Miranda has no idea that she was the product of rape. Bianca says that maybe we should tell Miranda before she is told by someone who is trying to hurt her. Zach is willing to be there when she shares this news with Miranda.

Cassandra is being told how she has to get up and perform by Uri. She says she's not that kind of girl and inexperienced. He puts on some music and asks her to dance and take off her clothes. He gives he some vodka and puts it down her throat. She's crying while she's taking off her flannel shirt, and then her tank top leaving her in jeans and a bra.

Jesse tells Angie that Cassandra has been taken. Angie freaks out when he says sex trafficking. They find out the girl Zach and Jesse found in the dumpster has woken up and Jesse wants to talk to her. Zach goes into the gentleman's club after stealing a cellphone to get the code. Angie wants to go meet the girl also, but he says not yet. The girl is completely out of it, and isn't any help. Angie barges in with Jesse following her. She sees the beaten girl, and breaks down.

General thoughts about the episode:

Thankfully Jesse has stopped lying and told Angie everything he knows about Cassandra's situation. Cassandra being held was creepy, that said one wonders why she said she wasn't that kind of girl. Was she trying to protect herself or was it something else? Bianca sharing that Miranda knows nothing about her conception is a big story point that should come out soon. It doesn't make sense that everything is David's fault, as he was trying to stop JR who brought the gun to the party, which killed Marissa.
