AMC: Thoughts on Episode 13

Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episode thirteen (May 20, 2013) of All My Children.

Miranda and AJ are studying in the Chandler living room and Bianca comes in wanting to speak with her daughter. AJ leaves and they discuss things with mother and daughter resolving nothing.  JR, Brooke and Dixie come in and Bianca loses it. Bianca confronts him, calling him a monster and wishing he had died. JR says he doesn't remember, but apologizes and she responds with bs. He admits that he was a first rate bastard, but isn't that man anymore. Bianca tells Miranda they should go, she says she is staying and goes to AJ's side. JR and AJ speak awkwardly and AJ says he needs to do homework or else he can't do baseball. When alone Miranda decides to sing a song she wrote on the guitar about their relationship called "Parachute". He said it was amazing, they kiss, and she awkwardly leaves being surprised over what happened.

JR and Cara continue discussing what he heard in his coma about Cara's baby. This ends quickly and Cara disappeared from the episode. Cara comes over the house to talk and says he can help with his rehab. Also they may eventually need each other due to David being a threat.

Pete and Celia are in a New York City hotel room. They are going to go to a club. Pete gets Celia various outfits to try on and we have a montage to Million Dollar Bills by Lordes. We see them back at the hotel after their time at the club. Celia offers for him to sleep next to her on the bed, though not under the covers.

Angie fell asleep as Amy's bedside, and David feels she should get some rest. She doesn't want to go because Amy may remember something else. David and Angie have left the hospital and he's there for her in a platonic way. Cassandra isn't feeling well and is with the other girls. She mentions how her family will find her while the others think that is doubtful. Uri and Vlad talk about their operation and the local pimp. Billy Ray Tuggle gets upsets when he finds out some of his customers are going to the gentleman's club instead of frequenting his girls. Lea, Zach and Jesse are at the PVPD and looking into it. Billy Clyde and some of his girls go to protest the club with signs. Jesse finds out about the disturbance at the club, and the three of them go there. Billy Clyde and Jesse are stunned to see one another.

General thoughts about the episode:

In the first episode, they were talking about how AJ is a soccer star goalie and the team had just won. Now AJ is pitching in baseball, how much time has passed in 13 episodes? In some schools, soccer and baseball are done in different seasons, or perhaps baseball is what he does in the summer. I liked Bianca losing it on JR even if Eden didn't play the Marissa and Bianca romance. I find it somewhat amusing that the Russian guys fear Billy Clyde even if I know he has done awful things, because compared to what they are doing he has a much smaller operation. David and Angie being friends sort of plays like Maureen and Roger on Guiding Light. Angie gives David some additional humanity as he cares about her just because he does and not for any sort of gain.
