This is my summary of the first three days of the final week of One Life to Live. I plan on doing another post on the last two episodes.
Monday’s show was literally between heaven and hell as some characters were sent into the waiting room. A few were in the good side, while others were not. Angels appeared Megan, Luna and Gabrielle (that’s in the order of death as played by Jessica Tuck, Susan Batten and Fiona Hutchison). Megan was there for her mother Viki (Erika Slezak), Luna interacted with Cole (Van Hughes) who was the son of her best friend Marty and Ford (David A. Gregory), while Gabrielle was in scenes with Bo (Bob Woods). In hell, we saw Stacy Morasco (Crystal Hunt) and John Wesley Shipp (Eddie Ford). Stacy was there for Clint (Jerry verDorn) as he had her heart. Of course, this was odd especially when she flirted with him as on Guiding Light, she played his great niece. Ford also interacted with his father Eddie, before he rushed into Luna. We also saw Blair (Kassie DePaiva) and Todd (Roger Howarth) for a few seconds in this episode comforting each other and checking in on Starr (Kristen Alderson). Starr’s first love Cole has been shot, and she admits her love for him as her current boyfriend James (Nic Robuck) looks on dejectedly. Jessica (Bree Williamson) was waiting on news on Ford. Mitch (Roscoe Born) was shot by two people John (Michael Easton) and then since it didn’t stick by Natalie (Melissa Archer). Mitch attacked John after he was already bleeding and Natalie’s shots were for her late husband Jared. Stacy and Eddie dragged Mitch to hell, and told him the news that he is not Jessica’s biological father. After killing Mitch, Natalie and John went back to Llanfair to find Viki and Clint passed out on the floor, as Viki had been shot, and Clint’s heart began to fail. The EMTs got there in time to save them, but Clint crossed over to the good area to keep Viki from choosing death. When seeing Clint in the doorway, she ran to him and they both woke up from their predicaments. Also we saw Nora (Hillary Bailey Smith) yell for Bo to wake up as Colin (Ty Treadway) treated him. Meanwhile Gabrielle was trying to entice Bo to stay. He eventually heard Nora and woke up to be with her.
Tuesday and Wednesday took care of lose ends from danger. It was revealed that Todd helped Cole fake his death, so Starr was only acting like he passed away. Ford though had died and his brothers mourned. James broke up with Starr, and she was given an offer by Rick (Austin Peck) to go to LA. Starr shared the news about Cole’s death being faked to her sister Dani (Kelley Missal). Dani also spent time with Nate (Lenny Platt) due to his brother’s death. Bo recovering from a gunshot wound was in the hospital. Matthew (Eddie Alderson) came back to check on his father. He also told Destiny (Shennell Edmonds) that he wasn’t ready to be a father to their child even if she means a lot to him. Clint and Viki were both staying in the hospital, but he can’t stay away from her. So John and Natalie relent and bring him to visit. Viki and Clint lie to John and Natalie about what Allison (Barbara Garrick) told them about Jessica. Clint calls Vimal (Nick Choksi) to help him with another DNA test and takes a checkbook out of his monogrammed robe pocket. There is horror on Vimal’s part until he sees Clint’s check that is sans a decimal point. Once Viki tells Vimal that what he wants to do is legitimate he agrees to help. Also we find out that Shane (Austin Williams) received a scholarship to go to the Phil Jimenez School for graphic artists. The school is in England, and Gigi (Farah Fath) had sent in his portfolio and application last year, which also surprised his father Rex (John-Paul Lavoisier). Shaun (Sean Ringgold) tells Vivian (Kearran Giovanni) that it is over between them because she won’t marry him. Jack (Andrew Trischitta) and Neela (Theresa Patel) talk about how she spied on him, and her guilt about it. John and Natalie finally got back together and made love at his place. Tea (Florencia Lozano) helps John nail Todd. He stole Todd’s phone and she brought it back to the hospital lost and found. Tea is keeping quiet about her feelings about Todd to get him imprisoned for killing Victor.
Of the first three episodes of the last week, I enjoyed Monday’s the most. The episode was the most self-contained, and while it ended with a cliffhanger “who is dead Ford or Cole”, it had a middle beginning and end. Tuesday and Wednesday had a lot of things going on, but the time frame was unclear. It almost didn’t feel like the last week, as the emotional stakes weren’t as high. Other than the Mannings everyone else is relative happy and safe now the escaped convicts with the exception of Allison have been returned to Statesville. Hopefully the last two episodes live up to my expectations. I have my tissues ready.
