Y&R: Delia's Illness Reunites Couples

On The Young & The Restless, Billy Abbott (Billy Miller) finally was able to return to Genoa City after Victor (Eric Braeden) stopped keeping him away from his family. Unfortunately the divorce papers his wife Victoria (Amelia Henlie) filed came back so while they are reunited, it looks like they are no longer married.

Billy left town in despair after losing their illegally adopted daughter Lucy to her grandmother Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). He ended up in a prison in Myanmar, and Victor rescued him. How he got there has not been explored, though we met a woman named Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan otherwise known as Annie on All My Children) who may have been somehow involved, but it was vague. Perhaps this will come back to hurt him and Vicky in the future.

Victor only got Billy out of the cesspool of a prison due to Delia, who had cancer and needed bone marrow. Her mother Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) had everyone tested, but no one in Genoa City was a match. Billy as her father was a good potential match, but unavailable. Victor got Billy tested and he was the perfect candidate. He blackmailed Billy into hiding from his family due to what happened in Myanmar. Victor’s attorney Michael (Christian LeBlanc) enlisted his brother Kevin (Greg Rikaart) to pose as Delia’s donor match. Kevin didn’t want to do it, but did it solely due to his love for Delia. This situation brought Kevin and Chloe back together. Chloe was so thankful that Kevin “saved” her daughter, that she proposed married to him by singing “Wedding Bell Blues”.

While Billy was in Genoa City, he visited Delia, but everyone thought Delia was dreaming of Billy. For example, at Halloween he went as Santa Claus. In that costume, he also went to see Victoria who was drunk and kissed her. Victoria and Jill (Jess Walton) went to Myanmar looking for Billy, and ran into trouble. They were given the choice either be kidnapped for ransom or go to prison for drugs. Thankfully Cane (Daniel Goddard) showed up and rescued them. While on an airplane together, Cane told Jill that Billy was alive, as they had been speaking and Cane had been helping him. Jill was relieved; as she was worried her wayward son had died.

Victoria was grounded in New York City due to weather and was stranded. At the airport, she ran into Billy at the same Irish bar they had been to prior to their marriage. Victor had a pang of remorse for Delia’s sake and let Billy go instead of sending him out of the country to never see Delia again. Billy has no idea that it was Victor’s choice to let him be, The airline put them in adjoining rooms at the hotel. Eventually they both couldn’t take it anymore and opened the door separating them. They reconciled, though at first she was livid that he would ever leave. Before leaving NYC, they were intimate, but once they were back in Genoa City, they rushed to the Chancellor Mansion to see Delia. The little girl was overjoyed to see her daddy.

Kevin nearly lost Chloe due to his silence. He told her the truth, and she became upset. At Thanksgiving, Chloe forgave Kevin and they are back on track. Victor lost Victoria due to his actions of keeping Billy away from her. Disgusted over what Victor did, Victoria quit her job at Newman Enterprises to focus on her life with Billy. While Delia doesn’t have the most average family, she does have a lot of love. Hopefully the adults in her life, are able to work together to make sure she is happy and well.
