Last week on Days of Our Lives, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and Victor (John Aniston) were married. They wed in the Kiriakis mansion with Victor’s nephew Justin (Wally Kurth) performing the wedding. Their guests were Henderson (Ron Leath), Daniel (Shawn Christian) and Melanie (Molly Burnett). Due to a snowstorm, Bo and Hope had to leave, Brady and Jennifer, Justin’s wife Adrienne and son Sonny never made it to the ceremony.
Her newly found son, Daniel, gave Maggie away. This is the secret that Victor and his loyal butler Henderson know, but Maggie has no idea. Victor had something to do with Daniel being Maggie’s biological son. Years ago, Maggie donated eggs to have a test tube baby. There were some leftover and one of them was used to create Daniel. Of course, this story is science fiction in a sense as the first babies that were created in this fashion were in the late 1970s, but I digress. A lot of viewers seem to be extremely upset over this turn of events, and I can understand, as it is a stretch. Having the late Alice Horton keeping this secret from Maggie for years was an upsetting turn of event. Alice seldom lied and why would she have kept that from her daughter-in-law.
Daniel doesn’t see Maggie as his mother, but does like her. His daughter Melanie though has loved Maggie for years. This just solidified their bond as even before that news Maggie wanted Melanie to be her attendant at the wedding.
Maggie’s vows talked about how honest Victor is, and well secrets have a way of coming out in Salem. While Maggie will be happy to have found her new relatives, it may take a lot of time for her to forgive Victor.
This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.
