Thoughts on Episode 7 of Dirty Soap

This is my summary of episode seven of Dirty Soap on E! This episode did not include Galen Gering (Rafe on Days), his wife Jenna or Kirsten Storms (Maxie on GH).

Kelly Monaco (Sam on GH) spent time with her friend Laura, a cancer survivor that she lost touch with during her treatment. When Laura was hospitalized she waited for Kelly to come, but she never did. They patched things up and said they would continue to be friends. Kelly went out to a restaurant with some other pals and was hit on, but they ignored the random guy’s advances. We also saw Kelly with Mikayla a young GH fan who also is dealing with cancer. This tween has gone through four rounds of radiation and chemo within a year. Kelly wanted to give Mikayla a dream day, and invited her to the set of General Hospital. She even got to do a scene with Jason Cook (Matt Hunter), which considering his work past with Days alums (Kirsten, Nadia and Farah) was interesting, though the program made nothing of that tie. The day though nearly fell apart as Kelly tried to touch up Mikayla’s wig. Since it wasn’t real hair, the curling iron destroyed it. They went out to a wig shop to get something else, which was a lot more attractive. Even with that one setback, Mikayla had a great day at GH.

Farah Fath (Gigi on OLTL) and John-Paul Lavosier (Rex on OLTL) were both in New York and Los Angeles. They had to go on set at One Life to Live, and tape some scenes. Farah wasn’t happy at what came off the food truck so J.P. went out to get something else. A group of OLTL fans were outside, and he stopped to take pictures and sign autographs, which I appreciated. Farah said she made it as a soap performer due to the come back from the dead story, while J.P. said he had an out of body experience as Rex, and shouldn’t that also count. On set, due to the story Farah was having issues remembering her lines. After the work was done, they went back to LA. The most controversial part of the episode would be when Farah and Danny were chatting. Danny had a new lip gloss with the secret ingredient of Viagra. This makes the lips slightly larger, but a bit numb a comment was made by Farah about using it with J.P., which would never be clear to air on a soap opera. Then she related a story about how Deidre Hall (from Days who has been acting professionally since before Farah was born) made a comment about the amount of lip gloss she uses. Farah saw it as her trademark and then remarked Deidre was a b**ch. I wonder what Farah feels about other performers as other than Deidre, she really hasn’t mentioned anyone that hasn’t been on the show. Farah went with Nadia and they were pampered. Later J.P. and Brandon talked. Also in this episode, Farah and her friends Danny and Nathaniel took J.P. out to get clothing. He really doesn’t want to change his look and is happy with his pajama pants even the fans back in NYC made a mention about them. J.P. said he would try on an outfit, if she really wanted him to, but she relented. There was also chatter in this about Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future due to JP having a Delorean. And J.P. of course knew what MJF wore on screen for much of the movie (a red t-shirt and jeans.) Later in LA, Farah went golfing with J.P. as he loves it. She was wearing the wrong kind of clothing, (long pants, low cut top), but at least she didn’t have on heels. In the interview parts, we saw their pets, but I wish they would be defined by name on screen. Farah gave J.P. a golf club membership for when they are living in California and they had a meal on the golf course right off the green at the 18th hole.

Brandon Beemer (Owen on B&B) and Nadia Bjorlin (used to be Chloe on Days) had more family dealings. Brandon’s family came to visit (father, stepmom, and brother), and Nadia’s mom Fary feigned a cold so she didn’t have to see them. Fary doesn’t care for Brandon or his family. This situation came to a head, and Nadia, Brandon and Fary had a sit down discussion. Sadly it seemed like Nadia may have to choose between her mom and her boyfriend. Fary wants Nadia to be happy, but Brandon is seen as not worthy in her eyes and even called him a drug dealer. Obviously the argument continued and nothing was really settled. Everyone wants Nadia to be happy, but it cannot continue this way.

Those were the highlights of the seventh episode of Dirty Soap, which aired on 11/6/11.
