Today on twitter @HLNTV announced that the Best Morning Show Award on the Daytime Emmys will be given out last. There are two nominees in this category: ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's The Today Show.
For many years these two shows have been in competition with each other for ratings. Recently GMA finally beat Today in the morning, but it has been back and forth for the last two-three decades.
As a soap opera fan, seeing the last award of the night going to a non-soap opera category kind of sucks. The only positive I can come up with is it won't get cut off by the show's producers. At least we are getting an on-air show this year. Let's hope it is better than last year and we get to see a lot of stars, who have ties to daytime television.
BTW if anyone is interested HLN is doing a contest through the 19th of June to win a trip to the Daytime Emmys on June 23. Here is a link to enter.
This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.
