The first week in July 2015 showed the annulment of the shortest marriage ever as Liam (Scott Clifton) and Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) signed papers on "The Bold and the Beautiful". Below are my thoughts on this development.
Since Ivy is fundamentally a "good" person, she couldn't lie to Liam about her status as an American citizen. They don't need to be married for her to stay in Los Angeles, so they are ended the legal relationship. While they're intimate, as far as we know no sex happened on their wedding night. No consummation means an easy annulment for Liam and Ivy.
What's next for Liam and Ivy? - A non-exclusive relationship. Ivy knows that Liam still has feelings for Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), so Liam is going to date them both publicly. His half-brother Wyatt (Darrin Brooks) and Steffy kissed once recently. All four of these people will be working together closely at Forrester Creations. While Steffy and Ivy are family, they aren't blood related, Steffy's grandfather (even if he isn't her biological grandfather, he is her grandfather in every way that counts) and Ivy's father are brothers, but they grew up on separate continents.
Would B&B actually go there and entertain the idea of Ivy, Liam and Steffy all being in a relationship together? (Wyatt couldn't be in the picture due to incest issues obviously.) Of course, I'm just spitballing, as I don't know how they would get away with such a story, while it is perfectly okay with a guy dating and presumably sleeping with two different women. (Just like it was okay for Hope, to be dating and having slept with both Liam and Wyatt, though it was said during the dating of both, all three characters were celibate.) No restrictions of that sort have been put on this triangle. Considering B&B currently has a female lead being a transgender character, would they be willing to go in this direction? Actually I'd love it if they made someone have a grey sexuality on a soap, but that's for another post.
