On March 5, 2012, General Hospital premiered new opening credits, here are my thoughts on them.

The new opening is now about 15 seconds, and it quickly cycles through about half the cast. They are using the same pictures as before with the names on them, but different staccato music. Hopefully the cast members who were not in the opening will be in an alternate version. Since One Life to Live had alternates when Frank Valentini was executive producer, have more than one version would not be out of the question.
While I can understand them wanting to have a short credit sequence, this was a surprising change. A part of me wishes they would just dump the whole thing and go back to the old school General Hospital ambulance opening. The old cliché everything is new again would be apt and with all the returns of actors who were part of the cast when it was used it would not be completely out of place.
