Y&R: Chloe and Kevin Depart

The long goodbye for Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) finally came to an end on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 (US airing). Below are my thoughts on all of this.

We've known for weeks that the characters would be written out, but initially we didn't realize it would be together with their daughter. Chloe "died" and there was a funeral, but surprise, she wasn't dead. Kevin lied and told his family that he was going to Tahiti, but went to rescue her. Chloe had been with Dr. Harris, on Victor's behest, was discovered by Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) and Nick (Josh Morrow) and then faked her death.

Eventually Kevin agreed to be a "prisoner" with Chloe, at Dr. Harris' home. This was ridiculous, but whatever. Eventually Kevin had enough and decided to go and get their daughter. Dr. Harris messed with his car, and Kevin nearly died. He came back, grabbed Chloe after tying Dr. Harris up and ran. Dr. Harris thought that Chloe, was his late daughter Maggie (which was disturbing, and weird as that was a name of a character that Liz Hendrickson played on AMC).

Before going away with Chloe, Kevin said goodbye to their shared family. They even showed a flashback to his first on screen meeting with his older brother Michael (Christian LeBlanc). He also said goodbye to Chloe's mother Esther (Kate Linder) who isn't on the secret of her daughter being dead and his boss Paul (Doug Davidson). Chelsea ran into Bella and Kevin, and the secret almost came out, but Kevin covered it up. Kevin using his cyber skills, came up with an alias for Chloe, Helen Jones. They'd be in Portland or nearby, but Chloe would be his girlfriend and not his wife as that would be harder to hide. Victor (Eric Braeden) discovered them, but Kevin was able to convince him to let them go off into the sunset together.

Since Kevin and Chloe are on the run due to Adam's death, if he returns, the door is open. I wish the actors well, and figure it won't be the last time we see this characters.
