OLTL: Goodbye to Dorian and David

Today marked the last episode for One Life to Live’s Dorian Lord (Robin Strasser) and David Vickers Buchanan (Tuc Watkins). The two who remarried earlier this year got a happily ever after as they left town separately. It is disappointing we won't continue to see them, but at least they remain committed to one another off screen.

This week we had Dorian and David say goodbye to the people who mean most to them. Dorian had a meeting with her Cramer women (her nieces Blair and Kelly, her sister Addie and her great niece Starr were in attendance.) There was a party with a cake with Dorian’s picture on it. The girls gave her a photo album and they gave speeches about what Dorian means to them. She was what kept the family together and helped them become stronger people. Meanwhile David spent time with his pa, Bo. They talked about the future and the past. David now is more than just a gigolo, but a star too. Being a Buchanan changed him and he wanted to strive for more than that. He also hoped that Matthew would get better soon.

Meanwhile, Dorian and Viki got themselves stuck in a room together as they got into a disagreement. For some reason, they tend to get into that predicament a lot, though I wonder why neither had a cell phone with reception as it wasn’t a basement. There was talking and arguing, but finally there was an admittance of love, from both of their parts. Of course, Dorian was disappointed that Viki said it first because she wanted to do so. To many viewers, Dorian and Viki are the soul mates of the program and no pairing either character has matches up to the two of them together. They got a montage of their greatest hits, which included some actual hits. At the end, David rescued them from the room. David was kind of jealous that his wife was with his best friend, but they have to share her Viki and Dorian can keep in touch as she is only two hours away, but phone calls and texting just aren’t the same.

So now Dorian is off to Washington D.C. to be an interim Senator, until the next election. David is off to Sweden to star in a movie. The question remains is this the last we will see of David and Dorian forever. If so, I’m glad they went out together and that their last on air scenes were with Viki.
