Y&R: Billy's Downward Spiral

Billy Abbott (Billy Miller) had everything he never thought he wanted. On the Young & the Restless, he had a life with his wife Victoria (Amelia Henlie), a suburban house in the style of Father Knows Best, and children. Well, he had it all, and now it’s lost due to his actions in Genoa City.

Billy wanted to give Victoria everything including another child. She miscarried and was told she could no longer have a baby. With the help of Rafe, Billy found a baby broker and got Lucy. He and Victoria got Jana to be a nanny to the child. Jana became mentally ill and kidnapped Lucy and Delia. This situation ended in Jana’s death after she held Kevin hostage. Jana’s interaction with Delia made Chloe angry and she sued for full custody, but more on that later. Unfortunately Lucy was the child of Daisy and Daniel, and Phyllis wouldn’t lose her grandchild. She got custody of Lucy, while Daisy awaits trial for her kidnapping past. This story has been dropped for now, perhaps it will be picked up again eventually, but I haven’t seen any indications of that.

Billy and Victoria became estranged due to losing Lucy. She thought how they got the baby was too easy, but was swayed to love her. The loss of Lucy was not only hard on them, but also on Victoria’s son Reed, who had been visiting. The family they had was falling apart as Billy lost custody of Delia too. Victoria stood up for Billy in court, which was sweet of her, but it was to no avail. Victor made it look like Billy was seeing a prostitute to pull his daughter away from her husband. Billy coming to court after being in jail for solicitation gave the clear win to Chloe. One day at the park, Billy saw Delia as she played with her friends at a party and she ran up to him. Since he didn’t tell anyone, and Chloe found them together, he even lost his monitored visitation.

Victoria is coping with losing Billy, but she has gone back to her old pattern. She’s taken a job with her father at Newman Enterprises even after winning a lawsuit that gave her $500,000,000. Billy is back to his trailer, drinking too much and gambling. He was in the “drunk tank”, when Diane was murdered so at least he isn’t a suspect, but Victoria is not that lucky.

Was their recoupling on the couch just sex or the start of something new? Will Billy and Victoria reconcile or will her relationship with her father come in the way again? The feelings are still there as while estranged, they still are married and love one another.
