GH: Likes & Yikes for 2017

Here is my list of likes and yikes year in review for "General Hospital" in 2017.

Likes: The amount of weddings, as most of them were for love not for convenience. Valentin and Nina were together at first for nefarious reasons (she wanted to help him keep Charlotte), but later it was about love. Nathan and Maxie finally wed, Ned and Olivia's wedding had fireworks, the literal kind, and not fighting, and Laura and Kevin had snow as it was Christmas.

Likes/Yikes: Hayden and Finn weren't something I was interested in, then I warmed to them, and Rebecca Budig was fired. The character left pregnant, lied about a miscarriage, but is out there somewhere with Finn's baby.

Yikes: Man Landers, what was the point beyond we don't know what to do with Nathan, and Kirsten Storms is on leave, and we don't want to recast Maxie again. The only positive is I don't feel ambivalent towards Amy anymore, though finally meeting her brother Chet was only okay, as it could have been much more.

Yikes: The chimera, was a biological weapon, not the mythical creature or the medical condition. I'm sorry I don't find it exciting or even mildly entertaining to see children (Jake, Emma, and Charlotte) nearly kill everyone at the Nurses' Ball venue.

Likes: While I wasn't happy about everyone who left town, I do like that not everyone died on their way off GH. Jane Elliot retired, so Tracy got a happy ending, though the material with the fake Q relative was annoyed. It is too bad they didn't time it that she could be at her son's wedding.

Yikes: Just about everything that was written for the character of Anna, having her be replaced by Alex (who now was evil), the illness (which was an ad for treatment)...how frustrating. At least Robin came to visit, and had another child off camera.

Yikes: The revisiting of Liz's rape, with the return of Tom Baker. That was icky, and having Franco hold a guy in an animal cage even worse.

Likes: The friendship between Drew and Curtis...that I continue to enjoy. Drew needs someone in his life that was never team Jason.

Likes: The end of the Thanksgiving episode.

Likes/Yikes: The verdict for me is still out about the return of Steve Burton's Jason, Billy Miller being his twin Drew and the like. So we'll see.

Yikes: Sam's peril, first having her daughter Emily Scout, and then her mental illness caused by that.

Likes/Yikes: That we finally got a resolution for Kristina and Parker's relationship though they left town.

Yikes: I finally started to care for Dillon and Kiki as a couple, and he gets shuffled off camera. Not that I liked having his father Paul be a murderer, but I digress.

Likes: At least Joss has the good taste to be dating Oscar, who is a Q. It would be ironic if he eventually changed his name...

Likes: While it was sad that Peter Hansen died in real life, I'm glad that Lee Baldwin also passed away. While it wasn't a perfect tribute, at least they brought Carly Schroeder back for a day as his granddaughter Serena.

Anyway, GH was a bit all over the place in 2017, so trying to come up with any sort of list that wasn't disjointed wasn't impossible.
