Thoughts about "Neighbours" - August 2017

Below are my thoughts for the August 2017 episodes of "Neighbours". Don't continue if you haven't seen it.

Yashvi's date with Evan ended when she realized he was harassing Piper online. She was worried, she drove him over, but actually only hit something that wasn't a person. Evan was out at the garage, but Yashvi's life didn't get much easier. Kirsha was forced by some mean girls to steal Elly's clothing at school. This was embarrassing, and while helping her sister they got caught. Yashvi took the blame. She and Ben continued to become better friends, but Xanthe thought it was more. Mishti had hooked up with Leo again, leaving a used condom in the trash. Dipi thought it was used when Ben and Yashvi had sex, which they didn't. We finally found out what Mishti went through in the police (losing her fiance, a fellow officer, and that she spiraled out of control a bit.) Shane told Dipi what had been held in confidence, and their marriage became stronger.

Willow went to live with her biological family: her half-sisters who were five year old twins, and the father she never knew. Ben and Willow both agreed that if things were different they would have dated. Toadie was sad to see Willow go, but horrified over the idea of a romantic relationship with Amy. Amy met Nick, without knowing what Nick did to her father, and they liked each other. She found out the truth about Nick, and they still did.

We found out what went wrong when Karl and Susan were on vacation off camera. He tried to smuggle food and seeds into the country, and lied that Susan had "bathroom" issues due to her MS. She was livid that he would say she was incontinent to the airport officials.

The best suburb contest preparation continued. Karl stepped down from being the lead of the committee due to Sheila finding out he upset Susan. The whole event was a mess, as Shane agreed with Karl's insane ideas like a huge compost heap at Lassister's complex. Sonya and Toadie were dropped from the committee for not agreeing with them.

Terese with Nick's help, seems to be getting better. Her work life is a struggle, and her investors wanted to leave the hotel. Gary accidentally told them about Terese's cancer, which explained a lot, but this was about money. Paul convinced them to keep investing. Terese thought about breaking up with Gary to be with Paul, but couldn't do it after he had a surprise engagement party for her.

The Brennan Dad Russell died, and their mother Fay caused issues. Sheila forced Fay to tell the truth about the boys: one of them was conceived when she had an affair. Tyler wasn't Russell's biological son, which considering Russell's abuse made it worse. Piper was there for Tyler, Elly for Mark, and David for Aaron. Later the will was read, and he left minor things to their sister (his leather jacket), their mother (boots), and Mark (fishing poles). The bulk of the estate was a boat for Aaron and Tyler to share evenly. This was uncomfortable, but the boys wanted to share.

Jack and Steph had an affair, but in her mind it wasn't serious. He was very inexperienced, and this was about having fun. Steph started seeing/hearing things (like Gabe talking), due to increased caffeine usage. This upset Paige, as she didn't want Steph anywhere near her son. During the power outage, they were stuck together, and became friends. At the end of the month, Steph got a visit from her son Adam. Paige went along with baby Gabe, and Ben. While playing with Ben's remote controlled car, Adam went underneath a car as the end of month cliffhanger.

Those were the highlights of "Neighbours" for August 2017. I liked Willow, so I was glad the character got a happy resolution even if it is away from Ramsay Street.
