Y&R: Six Random Thoughts about "The Young and the Restless" - September 2017

It has been more than three months, since I did a random thoughts post about "The Young and the Restless". Below are things that I'm noticing.

  1. Lily told Mattie about how she acted out by running away to LA and experimenting with sex. Did she mention the STI, nope? I wish that this would be another reason Lily was upset with Cane, due to her past history, and not just about Juliet being pregnant.
  2. By having Victoria invest in Abby's incubator project app, she's opened up the possibility of Brash and Sassy being tied to sex slavery and prostitution. Jack will be thrilled, and Victor livid for both his daughters. Considering how things are going, Hillary will probably announce it to everyone on her show.
  3. The "quad" of Noah, Mariah, Tessa, and Devon does nothing for me? Why, because the most chemistry is between Noah and Mariah, who share the same mother. (This isn't "Game of Thrones" where this happens more regularly.) I do think it is good that Devon and Noah got interact, but wish their friendship was stronger, as if Tessa and Mariah do end up dating they could commiserate together.
  4. Seeing Billy take advantage of Dina, to get secrets about Jabot was cruel. Go after Jack all you want, but don't hurt his defenseless mother.
  5. Ashley finally had sex again after many, many years of going without (as far as we know). Hope Ravi at the Abbott cabin was worth it.
  6. I'm glad that Nikki has moved out and stayed out of the ranch, and that Nick is still upset over Victor giving his home to Abby. Weird that changing sets is something I find interesting.

We'll see when Mal Young is both the head writer and executive producer how things will go. I haven't seen episodes of when he did that in the UK soap universe.
