B&B: Changes in Forrester Land

With the news of baby Douglas being Thomas's biological child instead of Ridge's big changes have happened at Forrester Creations on "The Bold and the Beautiful". Below are my thoughts about these developments.

Since everyone knows, that Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) and Thomas (Pierson Fode) conceived a child together, changes were made at the top. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) is out as CEO, and Eric (John McCook) has taken back the slot. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was happy about the change, but obviously Rick (Jacob Young) and Ridge were not. Rick wanted back in the position, while Ridge wanted to keep it. By all rights, Steffy would have been the next in line, but it is understandable why Eric would decide to be in charge. He's used to dealing with scandal, while Steffy being in that position for the first time would have to answer awkward questions about her father and her brother.

The news hasn't come out in the press yet, so we'll see how things pan out, though it is doubtful they'll ever find out how Caroline blacked out and blocked out the incident that made her pregnant. She just woke up to find Thomas in her bed, and didn't recall the deed. This situation has a good number of people upset due to how many would define what Thomas did as rape. "The Bold and the Beautiful" isn't writing it that way, and Caroline doesn't blame Thomas. Of course, if one feels that way it "ruins" Thomas on canvas. It is hard to want to cheer on a guy being a father to a kid, that he shouldn't have conceived due to dubious behavior.

A part of me finds it funny how much story on B&B is based around a morals clause as very few characters in town are "moral". I could understand if someone committed a crime that this would be reason for the person to lose their chance at the big chair.

I'm glad with Eric's choice of himself as it may give him something more to do. Of course, when everyone finds out he is hooking up with Quinn (Rena Sofer), there will be a long line of people disgusted with him. Can he be tossed out on the morals clause too? Hopefully Eric won't be in the position for a week or two and then have to give it up due to Quinn.
