Reality Show for Soap Stars

Coming in 2015, TVGN will be called POP and one of their new shows will be "Queens of Drama". The show is about a group of female soap stars who work together to create a new primetime soap.

For more information read the press release from TV by the Nunbers here, though granted there isn't much information. The actresses involved in the main cast are Lindsay Hartley, Crystal Hunt, Vanessa Marcil, Chrystee Pharris, and Hunter Tylo. Donna Mills will be a "special guest star", throughout the show. What is funny is the producers are people behind "Hatfields & McCoys" a History miniseries and "Gene Simmons Family Jewels", which I've never seen.

Looking at the list of actresses involved I wondered how they knew one another. Lindsay was on Passions with Chrystee, so they knew each other before this series. (Lindsay is mentioned as an All My Children and Days of Our Lives alumni, but her best known role is Theresa on Passions, which is just bizarre.) Vanessa Marcil's time on Las Vegas isn't mentioned and that show lasted seasons, so I felt that was also a strange omission. With Crystal Hunt, I guess her legal situation was handled, (as I never heard the outcome of that.) She only has worked on east coast soaps, so how does she know the others. Hunter Tylo is more known for her work on B&B than anything else, but she soap hopped and also was at All My Children and Days of Our Lives over the years.

Hopefully this show will air and be interesting. We'll see if it lives up to its promise. It sounds like a "let's make a show, and film it..but obviously a soap needs men too. I hope they don't use only unknown male performers, and while they won't be "Queens of Drama" they could appear as well.
