OLTL: Thoughts on Episodes 35 & 36

Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episodes 35 & 36 (August 5, 2013) of One Life to Live.

Note: I number these without the "More episodes" included in the count. On Hulu, these are episodes 48 & 49.

Episode 35:

Dorian and Jack went walking and Jack literally ran into Kate, as Dorian watched. When Kate comes by again, Dorian introduces herself. Dorian figures out that Kate was the girl who grew up with Jack. They talk about age differences and Dorian says for her it is no big deal.

Dani gets annoyed by Matthew's boxers in the living room. Michelle comes out of Matthew's room alone as Matthew already went to work. Matthew calls Clint from the coffee shop. Destiny is with Drew and the little man won't eat. Destiny thinks that Drew's head is warm, but Matthew gets him to eat by playing airplane. Michelle comes into the restaurant and thinks that Destiny is Drew's babysitter. She is surprised to find out they are his parents. Michelle starts to leave in shock. Matthew makes a declaration about how he cares about her more than anyone else, but he was afraid to tell her the truth. Drew then has a seizure, and they run out of the coffee shop.

Cutter and Natalie are in her living room, after they spent the night together. They kiss, but it is interrupted by the telephone. Clint calls Natalie to tell her about his arrest, and she leaves to pick him up as he is waiting with Bo in his office. Bo tells Clint that he should clean himself up before Natalie arrives, but Clint just calls his brother a pompous ass. Natalie gets angry with Cutter for not telling her. Clint continues to attack Bo and calls him a worm hiding behind a badge. Bo offers to let his brother hit him, but Clint won't do it. He mentions how the arrest was under false charges. Natalie gets Clint, and finds out that Diego didn't file any charges against her Dad. As Natalie and Clint leave, Bo says to himself that he's an old drunk. Bruce joins Bo to discuss the Briana Marland situation. Bruce lets Cutter know at the coffee shop that Bo thinks there is a call girl ring.

Tea comes to Todd's hotel room and sees the note about Victor. Blair tells her that they found out last night. Tea leaves and says you find Victor and bring him home. Todd goes to say goodbye to Viki. She shares how she is done with Clint. Todd doesn't explain the real reason he is leaving. Viki cries as she says goodbye to her brother, he looks back and then leaves Llanfair. Todd then goes to Dani's apartment to say goodbye. He gets her to promise to look after her mom as she still misses Victor. Todd also tells her he will be back someday. Jeffrey goes over to Viki's and they talk about the gala. Carl is going to speak on Clint's behalf at the event. At Llanfair, Dorian shares that the Banner printed that Clint was arrested in the police blotter. Viki tells Dorian that the veterans love him.

Sam and Blair are together before a soccer game. Sam is done with school for the summer. Todd comes in and wants to talk to Sam and Jack. Sam has to go to the game, and leaves. Todd tells Jack that one day they will get along. They shake hands, but Jack refuses to hug him. When alone, Todd and Blair talk about how they have enough time before he leaves town.

General thoughts about this episode:

I liked that Todd got scenes with Sam (his nephew), Jack, Viki and Dani before he left town, as we knew he would get to be with Blair. So Jack was able to get Dorian out for a walk, though I wonder who suggested the kettle bells. Clint and Bo argued some more, but I wish that Bo would be doing this out of tough love (and we'd have a scene where he'd share that with Nora.) Instead it seems like Clint is a screw up, while Bo is not, and if one knows Bo's history, he isn't known for his emotional stability. Poor little Drew, though I liked that what was wrong with him was something treatable, not life-threatening and we only saw discussion not a sick child.

Episode 36:

Destiny and Matthew are in the emergency room. Drew has a 105 temperature, which is what caused the seizure, Michelle is also waiting with them. Destiny calls Shaun about Drew, he cannot leave his post, but tells her that he's going to call Nora. Michelle comes in and brings coffee to Matthew. Bo and Nora show up and wonder why Matthew didn't call. Michelle introduces herself to Matthew's parents and they are surprised that Matthew has a girlfriend, and she leaves after he says this is for family.

Jo comes to see Dorian, and once Dorian discovers that she's the producer of David's show wants to show her out of the house. Jo is able to convince Dorian to listen to her. Jo says she has an Emmy, and starts to butter Dorian up to do the show. Dorian would do interviews with Jo, and show her side of the divorce.

David and Clint run into each other at the coffee shop and David is reading the tabloid. David calls Clint a blowhard millionaire, and Clint tells him to go to hell as he leaves. Clint leaves calls for both Matthew and Nigel. Rama goes up to David about the show, but he fears it is about his marriage. David tells her about the refocusing of the reality show and that she won't be part of it. Rama says that she was the catalyst for the divorce.

Jeffrey shows Viki the cover of the Llanview Sun, where he is on the cover. Viki says that they do need to write about it, but he suggests they can bury it. Viki gives him an actual job title, so it seems like he is no longer a freelancer. Jeffrey says he could kiss her, and he does after she points at her left cheek. Later, Clint comes in and pushes Jeffrey out after he asks for a quote, and then calls her brother Todd an ass. Clint leaves after telling Viki he will get his publicist involved to release a statement. Jeffrey reads off the statement, and tells Viki he will investigate. Lou comes in with copies of the program. Jeffrey comes back with a video copy of Clint hitting Diego and shares it with Viki. He tells Viki to call him when he decides what to do. Clint apologizes on the phone, while Nigel cleans lint off of his suit. Off the phone, Clint says and who says money can't buy love. Jeffrey is back at the apartment, puts his feet up and his tattoo is visible.

Todd and Blair had sex again. They are in afterglow, and he says we're doomed. He's wearing a wedding ring on his finger, over a tattoo of a band. Blair is also wearing a ring, and she says "they will always have their secret." They say they love each other, and he calls her Blair Manning. He walks out of the room, and Blair sinks to the floor on the floor. This is not goodbye a lyric from the song "Ready" by Mara Measor plays in the background. Blair is still crying over Todd. He opens up another note, he didn't share with Blair. It says 5316 West Gladys St. and on the second line: Don't fail us again.

General thoughts about this episode:

Jeffrey is tied to the evil organization, I feel it is good that someone that is a principle character is involved on team baddie and not just minor characters at Shelter. I liked that David remembered Vimal even if Rama stopped mentioning her husband. I wish that we knew what Vimal thought of Rama and David kissing, and since he is a Buchanan Enterprises employee what he thought about Clint's behavior. Todd and Blair getting married before he left even if it was off camera was a gift to the T&B fans. Of course, let's hope it isn't too long before they are reunited as I don't want Blair to spend years pining for Todd.
