This week on General Hospital, Mac (John J. York) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) were married on the Friday (August 16, 2013) episode. The couple became engaged during the ball, but celebrated their engagement with a karaoke party early in the week.
Maxie (Kirsten Storms) threw the engagement party for Mac and Felicia at the Floating Rib. Her mother and soon to be step-father who raised her, didn't really need an event, but obliged. Maxie sung "Going to the chapel" and everyone saw her joy about the wedding. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Emme Rylan) performed "She's Having My Baby" to Maxie, as they believe Maxie is carrying their biological child. Maxie has become incredibly attached to the fetus, and had started to call her Georgie after her late sister. Lulu has noticed the change in Maxie, but has no idea what happened. Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) were late for the party, but as part of the event Kevin and Mac dressed in drag as Norma and Eve. Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson) was frustrated once finding out that karaoke was something that Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) did with his ex-fiance Maxie. While Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) waited for Patrick (Jason Thompson) to show up, but he missed the party.
Mac and Felicia asked their friends Duke (Ian Buchanan) and Anna (Finola Hughes) to be their attendants. Neither one wanted to perform for the guests. During the engagement party, Duke was poisoned as he toasted with tainted champagne meant for his love Anna. Dr. Liesel Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) crashed the party with the intention of killing Anna, but failed at her target, and Duke while sick would recover. While wearing a blonde wig, she even performed a number "Is that all there is". While it was entertaining, I can't see why on earth she would risk exposure by singing a song in front of people who may recognize her even if her hair was different. Upon waking, Duke remembered who put him in the hospital and Anna along with Dante were on the case to apprehend Dr O. Maxie convinced Felicia and Mac to not postpone their wedding, even though Duke had to stay in the hospital and Anna was tied up with work.
Since Anna and Duke weren't available, Maxie took her place at her mother's side, while Spinelli stood in for the Scotsman. Considering Spinelli is the father of Maxie's child, it was like a family portrait, but only Maxie could see it. Lucy performed the ceremony, while Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) was the flower girl. Kevin, who is Mac's best friend was too busy with a patient to attend the ceremony. It was crashed by Richard Simmons who had been tossed out of the ball back in April. He apologized for his actions, and Emma initially was scared by Richard, but then became entertained.
Mac and Felicia said "I do" in a wedding montage of their vows. After the ceremony Maxie's water broke and we are on to the next adventure. We shall see what will happen in the hospital to Maxie and her child and how this little girl will impact the lives of the characters in Port Charles.
