On the actual program, we saw outtakes for the show, but due to Caroline's (Linsey Godfrey) interference it morphed from a comedy into something else completely. These episodes seem to be closer to the original concept and Karla and Lawrence were involved in their story creation like their earlier web series post-Guiding Light called Wed Locked.
The opening theme for the show is very cheeky and seems better matched to an older-style sitcom. Room 8 has a laugh track, which also gives it a retro feel. The main characters are Lance and Scarlett, who end up sharing a one-bedroom apartment. Lance wants to be a comic-book artist, while Maya is a type-A business person who is down on her luck. Due to Lance's dream career it is possible that this could be cross-promoted to that particular fandom. I can't really comment on the other actors involved in the project or their characters as they only appeared very briefly in the first two 5 minute episodes. If you want to know more about them check the press release.
To watch Room 8 visit room8theseries.com, since it is part of the CBS gateway due to the TWC situation going on it may not be accessible to everyone to see or if one is outside the United States. The other word of warning is each episode begins with an advertisement, and in my case I had loading issues and got stuck. If you reload, it usually does work.
