B&B: Pam's Game Show Love Brings Her Down

On “The Bold and the Beautiful”, Pam (Alley Mills) stole designs due to her losing Stephen. Nick (Jack Wagner) romanced her and she gave them to him to save Jackie M (Lesley Ann Down). Pam’s actions were discovered due to her appearance with Nick on Let’s Make a Deal.

Pam ended up going on Let’s Make a Deal because their model Tiffany Coyne came to Forrester Creations as Rick (Jacob Young) came up with the idea that it would be good for business to use known people in their runway shows. Tiffany told her she should come to the studio and be in the audience. Pam convinced Nick to go with her, as he owed her due to the design stealing. Donna (Jennifer Gareis) got sick, stayed home, and she watched the show with Nick. At first, she didn’t realize she was watching her love interest with Pam on television, but once Pam presented lemon bars to Wayne Brady she knew the truth. Of course, if Pam had gone on the game show by herself, this never would have happened.

On Let’s Make a Deal, Pam and Nick dressed up in a nautical theme. Nick was a lobster, while Pam was a fisherman with a yellow slicker. They played a game, and Pam won a trip to France, which included cooking lessons, she traded it in and got a Zonk. Jonathan Mangum played his normal role helping Wayne play the game and announcing on the show.

Donna kept her mouth shut at first about what Pam and Nick did though she admitted all to her sister Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). Meanwhile Pam felt guilty and was going to admit all to her sister Stephanie (Susan Flannery). Stephanie was told, and then Pam explained her reasons for stealing from her sister’s company. Pam hadn’t gotten over how Stephanie treated her former fiancé Stephen or how she left and Pam was stuck taking care of their mother.

Stephanie listened to Pam’s reasons, but fired her sister from her position. Obviously the trust was broken, if Pam could easily give these designs to the competition. When the rest of the family found out about what Pam did for Nick and Jackie, they wanted to prosecute, but Stephanie wanted to protect her sister so no charges were filed.

B&B tied in their network synergy, by using Let’s Make a Deal as part of the story. While it may have been done to increase viewer totals for both programs, it didn’t take over the show, and gave those who may have been game show fans an easy way to follow the program. That said, it may, have been more interesting if another B&B character was a closet LMAD instead of Pam the known game show fan who is played as a comedic character.
