Over the weekend, news was released that As the World Turns is streaming online legally. All one has to do is sign up with their name and valid email address to watch these free episodes on the web.
The website is worldturns.nl and the audience they are trying to reach is The Netherlands. According to the site, they will also have episodes for audiences in South Africa. A station in that country had been airing ATWT, but stopped before the last episode. This way the viewers can continue to watch from where the program left off on television and see the end of the series.
The show will be available worldwide and is free to view, so those of us in North America can also decide to watch As the World Turns. At this point, the episodes are all from within the last five years. There is a note that classic episodes will be posted. Of course, when that happens I’ll be a lot more interested in signing up to watch.
I’m happy for this development especially for those in South Africa. I know how it feels for a program to end and episodes aren’t shown. Hopefully this means more episodes of classic ATWT will be available to watch and soon. I finished the ATWT releases late last year, and I’d really like to see some more episodes from before this millennium in clear quality.
For more information on this topic visit welovesoaps.net. There is an interview with Mark Yates discussing their further plans with ATWT.
