On the Friday, February 3rd, 2012 episode of Days of Our Lives, Will (Chandler Massey) confronted his mother Sami (Alison Sweeney) about her betrayal of her husband Rafe (Galen Gering).
Will has been recalcitrant with his mother as of late, and Sami had no idea why. Finally Will, spoke the truth and explained his major issues with his mother. When his little brother Johnny was missing, instead of helping to search for the boy she had sex with Johnny and Sydney’s father EJ (James Scott). Will had walked into the Dimera living room to find them having a hateful sex romp between two people who were loathing themselves and each other.
Understandably seeing his mother having sex with a man, she can’t stand to be in the same room with freaked out Will. There is a major ick factor, when it comes to viewing ones’ parent or parents have sex. I mean really, the idea that the Dimera’s don’t have a lock for that room is crazy as it seems to be a prime place to have sex. Of course, it is a good place to get caught as anyone could walk into the living room even if the door is closed.
The irony of the situation is Sami became a “bad girl” after seeing her mother Marlena (Deidre Hall) having sex with John (Drake Hogestyn) while Marlena was married to Sami’s father. Sami never forgave Marlena for cheating on Roman, and as Will rightly pointed out, Sami has done the exact thing that she hates her mother for doing. I was so glad they brought that up, but even better, what Sami did was worse in Will’s opinion as Marlena and John had genuinely loved one another unlike EJ and Sami.
Will flipped on Sami also because of what is going on with EJ. He is keeping the secret, since EJ is blackmailing him over how he shot EJ years earlier. Of course, since Will knows about the one-night-stand, they both would have something to lose if Will blabbed. A sex scandal would turn EJ’s campaign upside down and destroy any chance of him becoming the new mayor of Salem.
Sami though should feel a bit relieved as Will is keeping what she did a secret. He doesn’t want his siblings to go through what he did, being the adult in his relationship with his mother. Of course, this will come out eventually, but she has sometime to scramble. Will has already shared what happened with Marlena, but she’s kept the secret.
Perhaps Will’s purging of his anger at Sami will be his first move to better his life. Maybe soon, he will finally be able to admit to himself and others that he is gay. Hopefully, he will have the love and support he needs to be comfortable with his sexuality. After hearing Will’s tearful diatribe, Sami left her apartment and came upon her half-sister Carrie (Christie Clark) kissing her husband Rafe. Sami is going to be upset, but that is not all. Will is obviously on Rafe's side, but what will he think about his stepfather cheating on his mother? How this development impacts the lives of the characters involved is uncertain, so we shall just have to wait and see.
