Thanksgiving in Soapland 2018: GH

General Hospital celebrated Thanksgiving over multiple episodes starting on November 21, and ending on November 29, 2018 (for five episodes in total). Below are my thoughts.

This is not at all sequential. We had a wedding, a death and pizza in Port Charles this holiday.

The wedding was between Jordan and Curtis (prior to Thanksgiving they had separate parties at the same escape room - with serial killer themes, showing off previous murderers so it was very meta to the audience and ended with an ice princess reference and the show's theme being played on screen). Jordan was giving away by TJ, and Nina was Curtis's person, and Anna was there for Jordan. The ceremony was interrupted by Stella, who came to actually support the couple. She also ended up having the something old as both Lulu and Maxie brought a new. Alexis was there with Molly, Finn, Chase, Laura, and Peter were also in attendance. They had their wedding reception on the Haunted Star, and were going to make love in the stateroom, and found a dead body. It was Kiki, poor Jordan and Curtis could not consummate their marriage.

Monica decided to get gourmet pizza ahead of time, and ask everyone to donate traditional Thanksgiving food to give to charity. The pizzas were taken, before they could eat it, and they had to order regular pizza. Of course, before the pizza was eaten they had to sing. Ned and Olivia and Leo let the group, and Michael arrived in time for food. Oscar showed up afterwards sharing that he would take the treatment for cancer, after Joss found out from Cameron that he was ill. (They made turkey drawings, but Joss got upset with Cameron and left.) Both Oscar and Joss were heartbroken, though Kim and Drew were glad he was going to do the experimental trial instead of going to court to fight it. Kim had wanted Julian to kidnap Oscar, but Julian wouldn't have done it, and Alexis was glad to lose Oscar as a client later that day. Drew thanked Joss for what she did.

After the wedding reception, Laura met up with Liz, Franco and the kids to see a movie. We saw them afterwards, and we found out that Cameron skipped, though they had no idea why Cameron didn't feel like going as this hurt Aiden. Laura doesn't know about the situation with Charlotte, being Aiden's tormentor which is sad, as the kids are first cousins. Nina and Charlotte went to NYC to see the Nutcracker and Valentin also came which made Charlotte happy.

The morning of Thanksgiving Kiki and Griffin got back together and spent time making love. He left as he needed to go to General Hospital (and he was reinstated), while Kiki got ready for the wedding. She couldn't find her pashmina, and was knifed by Ryan. Ryan did this as he thought this would make Ava happy. As Kiki's body was discovered Ryan and Ava were in bed, and Ava was devastated by the news. Ava wanted to blame Griffin, and he was arrested for the crime.

Sam spent the holiday sleeping as she had the flu, and missed her detective agency partner's wedding. Jason was at the penthouse looking after her, and we didn't see them most of these episodes. Kristina was volunteering off camera, and told Sonny that's why she wouldn't be at his home for the holiday.

Sonny and Carly had Thanksgiving with their family (sans Kristina), and Joss who was finding out about Oscar's illness. Michael attended that before he went to the Quartermaines, Bobbie was there, as were Mike, Lucas, Brad and baby Wiley. Due to what was said at their home, Stella went to the wedding. Earlier Sonny invited Spencer to the parade, and Spencer said he would go with his Uncle and Avery, instead of going to the wedding with his grandmother, as there would be a lot of law enforcement attending (not that he gave that reason.) It looks like Spencer will be returning to his school in France.

So a lot happened in the episodes over Thanksgiving 2018 on GH. What I wrote about is just a summary of what we did see and what was memorable. Having such a strong story with mourning right after a wedding was a bit of a surprise.
