Thanksgiving in Soapland 2018: B&B, Y&R and Days

Below is what happened on "The Bold and the Beautiful", "Days of Our Lives", and "The Young and the Restless" over Thanksgiving 2018. "General Hospital" will have Thanksgiving next week, so another entry will be about that program.

B&B's Thanksgiving episode aired on November 21, 2018. It was a standard one-day Thanksgiving at the Forrester mansion. Bill didn't attend as he was with Justin and his niece Emma off screen. Everyone else in town was there, RJ was in Europe with Rick and Maya.  They did the standard say something nice about someone else. Steffy led it off, by talking about Xander, who brought Zoe, who spoke about Wyatt, who told Sally what she means to him. Sally spoke to Charlie, who spoke to Pam, who spoke to Quinn (about the smaller Stephanie portrait), who spoke to Eric, who spoke to Donna, who spoke to Katie, who spoke to her son Will, who spoke to Thorne. Thorne had to say something nice about Ridge, and Ridge spoke to Brooke, who spoke to her daughter Hope. Hope spoke to Liam, and Liam spoke to Steffy. Steffy gave a speech about Thanksgiving in general, and then Liam toasted both his daughters' moms. Earlier there was a reference to how this was Kelly's first Thanksgiving, and how next year, Kelly could show her younger sister about the holiday.

Days of Our Lives' Thanksgiving episode aired on November 21, 2018. This wasn't a full Thanksgiving with everyone, but had two distinct parts. The Kiriakis clan was in the mansion, while Doug and Julie had an event at Doug's Place. Victor and Maggie, were together with Sarah, baby Holly, Justin and Adrienne. Victor was keeping Sonny's location a secret from everyone, due to Will, which upset his parents. Justin and Adrienne decided to eat elsewhere, and Will joined them. Eric came to see Holly, and Victor didn't want him there. Victor eventually relented and contacted Sonny, after nearly choking (and being saved by Sarah). Lani was to join her family at Doug's Place, but had to go to work. Valerie, had great news, but it was causing issues with Abe. She was offered to be the chief of staff at her former hospital in Washington D.C. Abe was upset, as he didn't want to lose her, Sheila and Eli both thought she should go as that was her dream job. Sheila arrived early, and Julie didn't realize that Sheila wasn't working for her, and took the job with Abe. During the meal, everyone shared their reasons to be thankful. At least this year, no one was shot, though Theo's shooting was mentioned.

Y&R's Thanksgiving episode aired on November 23, 2018 on Friday after the holiday. Traci was in Genoa City for Thanksgiving, and Jack wished that Ashley would visit. Kyle and Billy were at the table, and Jack invited Kerry from Jabot. Dina was upset by Kerry at first, but the younger woman charmed Dina. Abby was there, but Arturo arrived, everyone convinced her to go with him to eat with his family. Rey was working and went to Victoria's, he wanted to talk to Victor who was out of town. Nick brought Faith with him to see Victoria and Nikki. Faith wasn't happy about Nick and Phyllis reuniting, but it was better than someone new. After dinner, Billy went over to see Victoria. Sharon had Thanksgiving at Crimson Lights for those in need. Mariah and Tessa were together, and Mariah admitted lying about things with Tessa is difficult. Rey, Arturo, Abby, Mia, and Lola have dinner together. They later go to help Sharon. Jack recalled Thanksgivings past with John. Ashley texts about her new company, Traci, Dina and Kyle leave, and Jack and Kerry share some wine. Lola and Kyle talk about their respective Thanksgiving dinners.Victoria went to confront Tessa.

B&B had the normal regular calm Thanksgiving episodes, with no food fights or anything like that. Days had a Thanksgiving that was missing a lot of characters, not that I am complaining about seeing Doug and Julie, but it was surprising that we didn't see John and Marlena or the Brady family at Thanksgiving. Y&R didn't have bloodshed, or strife, but it was weird having Jack talk about John, when Traci, would also be able to talk about their father.
