B&B: Nicole Agrees to be a Surrogate Again

This post is a bit of a rant about the latest development in the Avant story. Nicole (Reign Edwards) just agreed to be a surrogate for Maya (Karla Mosely) and Rick (Jacob Young) again. Below are my thoughts.

I'm sorry, but I don't like the idea of this story. Nicole already gave away months of her life to her sister and brother-in-law. She is still so young, and should be allowed to make her own choices. Having her say no, have her hold the baby and say yes, was just so wrong. It felt like she was being manipulated, which I DO NOT like.

I do not understand why Nicole has to be the gestational carrier along with the baby's biological mother. There has never been any serious on screen discussion about this possibility, which makes no sense. It is easier to ask your sister, than a stranger to carry your child, but some people are willing. Also Rick and Maya have other relatives that have wombs and could go through a pregnancy.

The other issue I have is the fact that Rick and Maya have been lacking in story. So we finally get to see them do something, and it is about yet another child. I know that B&B sometimes has long stories that repeat, but this need not be one of them. I'm hoping for a twist beyond Zende (Rome Flynn) getting angry again and Nicole and Zende having another break up, with him getting back together with her half-sister Sasha (Felisha Cooper). The only difference so far than before is that Nicole and Zende are in a stronger relationship than the first time.

There needs to be a switch and soon, something to make this different than the original plot. Otherwise, I'm just going to be frustrated and annoyed they went back to revisit this again so quickly. The baby isn't a year old yet, which makes it even worse. Most of the time it isn't suggested for someone to go through two pregnancies with such a small break.
