Y&R: The Verdict in Adam's Trial

This week, "The Young and the Restless" finally gave Adam (Justin Hartley) his day in court after he accidentally ran over Delia and killed her with his car. The crime was two years ago though since he was presumed dead and then lived as Gabriel Bingham due to plastic surgery, he was undetected. Below are my thoughts and include everything that happened through the US airing on October 23, 2015.

Adam was caught, because Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) couldn't deal with keeping it a secret anymore. She loved him, but he cared more about revenge than anything else. Adam worked with Ian Ward (Ray Wise) on a project called paragon. This caused Newman Enterprises to loss a lot of money. Once the news was out, everyone was livid. Jack (Peter Bergman) knew, but kept quiet because he thought Adam would cause his brother Billy (Burgess Jenkins) would go to prison for shooting the other man.

For the second anniversary of Delia's death, everyone assembled in Chancellor park and planted a gingko tree. They spoke about the girl and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) returned. She saw how  Adam on bail stopped for the festitivies. Victor (Eric Braeden) paid 10 million dollars, so his son could have some temporary freedom. Chloe couldn't believe it, took out a gun and nearly shot him. Due to Adam and Chelsea's son Connor, no one was injured and she wasn't charged for any wrongdoing. Chloe decided that she couldn't stay for the trial and returned to California. It is still up in the air about whether or not she had a baby using Billy's sperm. Esther (Kate Linder) saw her daughter freak out and also wanted justice for Delia.

Michael (Christian LeBlanc) defended Adam, while Christine (Lauralee Bell) was the prosecuting attorney. Kevin felt betrayed by his brother for working for Adam, as Kevin was Delia's stepfather. The  trial was a bit unusual due to how Adam testified before the prosecution rested. Billy shockingly asked for Adam to have mercy as he finally realized he blamed himself more Adam. If he hadn't left Delia in the car with Dash the dog, she would never have been killed. (He and Chelsea were together and nearly lost Connor. She blamed herself as the mother and everything clicked.) Victoria (Amelia Henlie) was proud of him for feeling this way as was Jack. After Adam was found guilty of felony hit and run, testimony was given by Delia's family. Kevin spoke as did Esther. They both wanted him to not get off with a slap on the wrist. Esther spoke about how Adam easily burned Delia's scarf. Jack, Victor and Chelsea all didn't want Adam to spend the rest of his life in prison. Connor didn't need to be punished for Adam's crime. The judge came back with a 10 year sentence. On the way out of the courtroom, a handcuffed Adam was hit by a car.

At this point, we don't know who drove the car who hit Adam. We also don't know if Adam will survive and if he does what his condition will be. I did appreciate how they actually spoke about how Christine miscarried Paul's child and Nikki (Melody Scott Thomas) remembered what she did and got away with it. Of course, I didn't like that nothing was said about Phyllis (now Gina Tognoni) also was a hit and run driver though unlike Nikki and Adam maliciously caused an accident.
