Y&R: Nikki & Victor's Penthouse Party

In honor of their new home, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden) threw a party inviting their family to see their new place. This event went over two episodes, Thursday & Friday December 6 & 7, 2012. As all parties on "The Young and the Restless" things did not go as planned.

Nick (Josh Morrow) took Avery (Jessica Collins) on their first "official" date to this event. Avery wasn't sure they should go, and she was right to be reticent. While she was treated decently Nick did get some flack. He was criticized again for not fighting to get Newman Enterprises back, and moving on with his life.

Due to what Victoria (Amelia Henlie) had to deal with recently, being kidnapped and finding out about her husband Billy's (Billy Miller) lies, she wasn't in much of a mood for a party. She went just to support her mother and to get away from Billy. Adam (Michael Muhney) was invited by his father, which surprised everyone due to their rocky relationship. He brought along his wife Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Both Nikki and Victor gave their condolences over the loss of their child, which sadly was caused by their granddaughter.

The party had a good start, but of course there was a party crasher. Sharon (Sharon Case) decided it would be a good idea to apologize to her former in-laws over her recent behavior. She left out how she burned down their last home, but this situation didn't go well. Sharon didn't explain to anyone assembled that she has bipolar disorder, which is what caused many of her actions. Sharon left and Adam went after her. Victor took pity on Chelsea and got his driver to bring her home.

Poor Noah (Robert Adamson) had to deal with everyone criticizing his mother. While Noah knows his mother's secret, he didn't feel comfortable sharing it with the others. Nick wasn't happy that Noah had to listen to these comments, and wanted to protect his son.

While this was more of a dinner party, than a huge event, it was nice to see everyone dressed up, the new penthouse set is very bright in contrast to many of the other places in Genoa City. I also appreciated that before the party when Nikki and Victor were alone, she played the piano for him.
