This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.

B&B: The Latest War over Forrester Creations
Thomas Forrester (Adam Gregory) thought he had everything set with his professional life, as he was the acting CEO of his family's company, Forrester Creations. With his grandmother Stephanie's (Susan Flannery) death, he was set to inherit 25% of the company making him the primary shareholder. Unfortunately for him, things don't go that easily in the world of "The Bold and the Beautiful."
On Monday, December 10, 2012, we found out that Stephanie changed her will and disinherited her grandson. She gave her 25% to her widowed husband Eric (John McCook). Stephanie felt that Eric needed something to live for and giving him back control of the company was her way of doing it.
This news sent shockwaves through the family, as everyone watched Stephanie's DVD news. The friday cliffhanger was Stephanie on screen coughing before she could announce the change. Stephanie had bribed Thomas into lying about Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). In the years, since then Brooke and Stephanie's relationship became strong, so this reversal was understandable from that angle. I didn't appreciate the idea that Stephanie would do that to Ridge (Ronn Moss) even if she preferred that he'd be with Taylor (Hunter Tylo).
Upon hearing the news that he was CEO, Eric was happy. He tried to appeal to the younger generation mentioning their importance to the company. Eric devised a contest with two teams battling it out to get into control as his protege. The teams were aptly named Team Taylor and Team Brooke based on who was in each group. Taylor and her kids Thomas and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) were on one side, while Brooke, her son Rick (Jacob Young), daughter Hope (Kim Matula) and Rick's girlfriend Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) were on the other. Before Stephanie changed her will, Brooke and her kids felt they had no shot with the company, but now they had an opportunity to succeed. When Brooke and Taylor were fighting the comment Team Logan versus Team Forrester was tossed out, I appreciated they allowed Brooke to make a retort to that as Eric sees Brooke and Taylor's children as relatives regardless of the biology.
While I am enjoying this material so far, as I'm viewing it my thoughts go back to Thorne (Winsor Harmon). As the one child of Eric and Stephanie currently working at FC, he should have been involved in these episodes. I think he'd like to know what his mother did and we see his reaction soon.
I also hope that this is done in an evenhanded way and we see both sides plan. Since this is a fight within Forrester among the family, I hope no one stoops to copying the other teams work. Now if it was back in the day and Sally Spectra was involved that's exactly what I'd expect to see.
