ATWT: Lily & Holden Story Disc Two

This is my summary of the second disc in the two disc "The Lily and Holden Story" collection from As the World Turns.

Episode One: May 16, 1996 (really 1995)

Connor (Allyson Rice-Taylor) was injured in a car accident and is wheeled into Memorial, and Susan (Marie Masters) is her doctor. Cal (Patrick Tovatt) is at her bedside. Mike (Shawn Christian) helped her as he escaped from a prison van accident. Mike and Rosanna (Yvonne Perry) are out in the rain, she starts to pass out and then freaks out at him. Rosanna gets upset about how she saw him in jail talk about her father being dead. He tells her that he will always love her. MIke goes to hide, as they hear sirens. Carly (Maura West) comes in and admits that she knows that Mike is on the run and Rosanna was helping him. They work together to get Mike some supplies. Rosanna has no cash and asks to borrow some from Carly. She snarks that Rosanna will pay her back with interest. Rosanna cuts off Mike's handcuffs.

Emily (Kelley Menighan-Hensley) is by the fire and her boyfriend Jef (Christopher Fuller) tells her that he is falling in love with her. She is upset, and he doesn't understand. Eventually she admits to feeling the same way. They talk about her past, and also sex in general. This is a 90s era PSA as Jef is a teacher and he wants to practice what he preaches to his students. They then make love in front of the fire.

Lily (Martha Byrne) is in labor on the kitchen floor at the Snyder farm. Holden (Jon Hensley) is delivering the baby. Damian (Paolo Seganti) is also out in the rain and sees this going on from the window. He leaves unseen and calls an ambulance. We see a flashback segment of Damian remembering everything about the baby including Janice's (Holly Cate) taunts. He doesn't believe he's the father of the newborn. At the hospital, Susan says there may be something wrong with the baby. Meanwhile we see Damian at the gym and he wants a fight. Holden calls everywhere he can think of to reach Damian. The episode ends with Susan coming in and Lily asking about the baby.

This episode is from 1995, but is marked as 1996 on the disc. It has full cast closing credit sequence.

Episode Two: August 16, 1999

Carly is at Java without any money, and Molly (Lesli Kay) comes in to speak with her. They talk and eventually Molly gives Carly money, but it is Canadian.

Holden and Lily have gone home with baby Melinda. Reid (Keith Coulouris) had been raising the baby.  Emma had left a note to the couple. Denise (Cassandra Creech) and Ben (Pete Parros) are with baby Hope. Holden calls as he wants Hope back home to meet Melinda. They decide to name the baby Faith. Molly comes in and interrupts with the press.

Lucinda (Elizabeth Hubbard) is in Florida and wants to come back home. On television, Lucinda sees "In Your Face", and how Lily and Holden get their daughter back. After seeing the good news, she decides her return will be a surprise. Denise and Ben bring the baby back and Molly records this for the show. The police are at the door and Molly gets arrested. Lucinda wants to find Reid and feels that he got away with what he did because Lily is too nice.

Jennifer (Kim Onsach) and Barbara (Colleen Zenk) speak about Hal (Benjamin Hendrickson). Hal comes in and Jennifer leaves so they can have some time alone. There is discussion about how Hal has to deal with Carly all the time due to their son Parker. Carly comes to the house and Barbara looks like she wants to slam the door on her face. Carly asks Hal for a place to stay with Parker, but then he offers her money. She won't take it and then as she leaves tells her she must call before coming to the house. Lisa (Eileen Fulton) comes in and Hal convinces her to give Carly a job. Basically if Carly is out of the way, Barbara will remarry him and then Lisa can plan the best reception. Eventually Lisa agrees and Hal shares the good news with Carly that she has a place to live and a job. Hal comes back and reaffirms his feelings for Barbara. He proposes again in the kitchen, she says yes and they kiss. Lisa and Carly spar, and Lisa announces Carly's new job as the ladies' room attendant at the Mona Lisa.

She explains to Abigail (Kristina Sisto), who was upset about her mother lying again. Abigail finds out that Katie was the one that destroyed her mom's career. After overhearing Katie threaten Molly, she decides she wants to help destroy Katie.

Holden and Lily talk about their time apart, while she was stranded on an island with Simon (Paul Leydon) and they kissed. Holden was with Rose unknowingly and Lily is horrified that Holden slept with her impostor. Holden explains how Rose had excuses for everything. Lily gets upset hearing about all of it. Simon and Lily also say goodbye. At home, Lily is thrilled to see Faith and Luke, but it is awkward. Luke has a favorite song, and Lily has no idea what it is as Rose sang it to her son.

Emily and Chris (Paul Korver) talk at the Intruder, she leaves to interview Rose and they talk off the record. Emily is upset when she goes to the jail and Rose is gone as she is out on bail. She sees Simon who has just been arrested for a warrant in Canada.

Episode Four: December 5, 2005

Gwen (Jennifer Landon) and Will (Jesse Soffer) are about to make love in front of a Christmas tree. They both stop what they are doing to get a condom. Carly is at the door and interrupts them with news about the custody of the baby. Gwen has permanent custody of Billy. Carly and Gwen talk about what it would have been like if they had grown up together as sisters. Tom comes and tells Carly and Gwen the trial won't be postponed until after the holidays. Gwen tells Tom, she wants to drop the charges, but that isn't an option.

Holden is at the farm bailing hay and Lily walks in stopping his work. Lily wants him to sign the divorce papers so she can marry Keith, but he wants an explanation. Holden said he was told by Lucinda's lawyer that he can hold up the divorce for years. Lily goes to see Lucinda and she talks about what she has been dealing with during her cancer treatments. The chemo has taken a lot out of her, and she started losing hair, so she got rid of all of it. Lily goes back to see Holden, and we see a montage of Lily and Holden moments. He comes in and they start kissing.

Emily and Tom (Scott Holmes) talk about what their child Daniel wants for Christmas. Paul (Roger Howarth) shares with Tom that he had Emily are getting married. At the hospital, Susan shares with Barbara the news about Emily and Paul. Barbara wonders what Emily has on Paul that he would agree to marriage. Paul and Emily come in and the fighting starts. Meg (Marie Wilson) is about to tell Jennifer (Jennifer Ferrin) that her baby is alive, but Dusty (Grayson McCouch) interrupts her. Dusty and Meg spend time alone and they start kissing. After making love, Meg's feelings of guilt are shown.

Episode Five:  January 13, 2006

Luke (Van Hansis) asks why Lily and Holden are having another wedding ceremony as they are still married. Holden explains the past to the young man. Lucinda admits to feeling crummy, (she has a wig on), and Lily tells her that no one will judge her for feeling how she does. Faith and Natalie come in their flower girl dresses wearing too much makeup, and Lucinda goes to help them. In the living room, Holden and Lily renew their vows. They speak their own vows.

Earlier in the episode, Jack (Michael Park) and Carly are getting ready to go to the renewal ceremony. Carly and Jack talk at the wedding and she mentions them getting married again, but he said they already married twice.

Dusty, Jennifer and Johnny are together and happy. They also end up at Holden and Lily's renewal. Meg comes in and then leaves, Emma goes outside to stop her. After the ceremony, Luke lies to Lucinda after he steals some champagne.

Hal is at the police station with Nick (Jordan Woolley). Jack says that once Hal realizes he is over his head, he'll get a phone call. Nick and Hal argue about the situation with Paul eventually Hal gives Nick the file.

Paul is on the ground wondering where Meg is, and Emily runs into her. The contents of Meg's bag fall out, which includes drugs and syringes. Meg and Emma (Kathleen Widdoes) argue as Meg won't come to the ceremony. Meg feels like she can't go because of what happened with Jennifer. We eventually go back to Paul who is hallucinating. He sees Emily with a gun about to shoot him.  Later we see Jennifer going after him with an ax. Susan tells Emily that she should apologize to Jennifer. Emily then gets a call from Nick. Paul is delirious and calls Meg begging her to get there soon. After getting off the phone, he sees Emily and Jennifer again. Meg gets there, but Paul is on the ground underneath the snow.

I'm not sure which episode on this disc I liked the most. The 1995 episode reminded me how much I liked the character of Jeff for being "normal." I was really surprised that they included an episode in which Barbara and Hal got engaged again on a Holden and Lily set, but I have no complaints about that. Katie and Henry had a friendship moment, though this was before they were very close in 2000. The 2005 episode made me feel like Christmas came early that year in Oakdale, while it was sad seeing Luke seem alienated as he was coping with his homosexuality.
