Y&R: Devon is Tucker's Son

Recently a new blood tie was discovered in Genoa City: Tucker (Stephen Nichols) is Devon’s (Bryton) father, which makes Devon, a grandchild to Kay (Jeanne Cooper). While Tucker was comatose, Kay found out about Tucker’s missing child and put Paul (Doug Davidson) on the trail. With limited information, he was able to find out it was Devon.

Prior to that, Tucker saw that Devon had a propensity for music and hired him as a producer for McCall with Noah as the musical act. Noah wanted out of the development deal to work for Jack. This left Devon hanging and Tucker fired him, as he was only given 24 hours to find a replacement musician. This destroyed whatever goodwill the men had for one another. Neil was upset over Tucker’s actions, but couldn’t do anything to help his adoptive son.

Devon was surprised, but flattered when Kay offered him a job at Chancellor. Up until now, Chancellor had no music department, and now Devon with very little experience was going to be running a whole division. Kay also updated her will to give Devon a full share of inheritance. While meeting with Mitchell, Jill came home. She figured out that Devon was Tucker’s son, due to Kay’s actions, though she will keep the secret. Perhaps Jill is keeping quiet, because Kay wants to have a relationship with Devon, and she knows how awful Tucker can be.

Meanwhile, Devon is preparing for his high power gig. While happy for Devon, Neil was worried for him. He’s been in the business world for years, and overnight successes usually don’t happen that quickly. Devon wants his father’s support, and knows that to make money, it must also be spent.

Paul may be a wildcard in this situation, as he wants Devon to know the truth. He thinks Tucker, would want to know that his son is someone he knows in Genoa City. Regardless of the issues between Tucker and Devon they are related. Also, this may cause more issues down the road for Kay. She and Tucker are extremely estranged, and now she is working with Devon. Will father and son come together and go after Kay for lying to them? While Tucker has done things that have hurt Kay, Devon is an innocent in this situation. He does deserve the truth and hopefully Neil and his family will have his back regardless of genealogy.
