AMC: Ten More Shows on ABC

We have two weeks left of All My Children on ABC daytime. This entry discusses my thoughts on the program right now, along with spoilers to what is known to be coming up in AMC’s last two weeks (10 episodes).

So far, we’ve had some returns, but more are to come. Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) saw Leo (Josh Duhamel) I squealed with delight, and posted about it. Ryan (Cameron Mathison) saw Gillian (Esta TerBlanche), but it last 3 seconds and I was horrified. I really hope there is more obviously. Verla Grubbs (Carol Burnett) brought the funny and interacted with Opal (Jill Larson) and Erica (Susan Lucci). They didn’t mention Langley her father, who has passed, but her return helped to jumpstart a romance for Opal. Her former plumber Sam (Jason Kincaid) was back in Pine Valley for a reunion. Now they plan to go to Hawaii on vacation together.

The two biggest returns have been from the dead. Zach (Thorsten Kaye) survived a plane crash after being revived by David Hayward (Vincent Irrizarry), while Dixie (Cady McClain) was rescued by David and kept her alive after she was poisoned. Both Zach and Dixie have returned to their families with mixed results. Zach’s behaving strangely, and the show has yet to explain exactly why. Dixie had a sweet reunion with Kathy that she gave away, a stressful situation with JR (Jacob Young) who is out of control, and a confused one with Tad (Michael E. Knight). In the weeks, she’s been back things with JR have been like a roller coaster, but her relationship with her husband of multiple times is back to good.

On Friday’s show we heard Colby (Natalie Hall) on the phone with Brooke (Julia Barr) and her father Adam (David Canary). Unfortunately we didn’t see them, but they are going to be on before the show’s last date. The one return that was planned, which didn’t happen is Leven Rambin as Lily as she’s in the movie “The Hunger Games”, and couldn’t get off from filming. The book series is interesting even if it is for younger adults and well written for the genre.

So far, we saw Eva LaRue (Maria) talk on the phone out of Pine Valley, but nothing more, we are supposed to get something extra with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the scenes. Sarah played Kendall when she was first introduced, and in this cameo she is playing one of Maria’s patients. Still expected are the actors who played Jamie and Babe, who are married in real life Justin Bruening and Alexa Havins. The return information has been left under wraps.

Even with the returns, in some ways I’m left pondering what will happen. I just don’t know how things will go as the Prospect Park situation isn’t completely concrete. For the new production, we are have lost Jacob Young (due to his getting his old role back on The Bold & the Beautiful) as Rick and Debbi Morgan (who was hired by The Young & the Restless). Other performers have said they aren’t interested, so it is doubtful that we will see them.

When I realized it was just two more weeks, I let out a big sigh. I don’t know how they are going to wrap up the lives of our friends in Pine Valley. I appreciate the enjoyment I’ve gotten over the years and hope others feel the same way.
