GH: Christmas in Soapland 2018

General Hospital had one Christmas themed episode (December 21, 2018) as a rerun of Christmas 2005 will be on Christmas Eve, and basketball will on Christmas Day. Below are my thoughts.

Anna had a Happy Christmas Party. Maxie was at the hospital, and ran into Chet who was leaving items for Toys for Tots, even though he isn't in the Marine Corps. Amy had to work, so he was alone. Maxie invited him to Anna's for the evening. Peter surprisingly came to Christmas, and we discovered they both were awful at wrapping presents. Jordan and Curtis were in attendance, and Finn and Chase got along on the day. Stella arrived, but left due to Jordan sharing how Mike went off with a patient at his day program.

At Charlie's Pub, we had Willow and Julian chat about Wylie. Willow believes baby Wylie is her son that she gave up for adoption (and has no idea he actually died.) They look at pictures together, and Willow and Michael run into each other at the hospital, and go together to the support group.

Elizabeth, Franco and the boys were together before leaving for the hospital. Cameron wrote a letter about his failed drug buy as he wants to stay out of juvenile detention. Cameron, Aiden and Jake had a good moment as brothers.  By themselves, Cameron gave Aiden encouragement about being himself, as they like him, so others should to.

The Corinthos House had a bit of sadness due to Kiki's death and Mike's illness. Lucas and Brad come with baby Wiley, and everyone is glad to see the boy. (There are references to the earlier naming ceremony where Sam and Michael became his godparents.) When alone Joss yelled at Jason for lying about Oscar though they reconciled. Mike and Sonny talked about the football game they saw together. Mike bought tickets, and it is one of Sonny's happiest memories even though the Giants lost.

Oscar is still in treatment at the hospital. Drew and Kim got him a car for when he recovers. Monica told him they have to see the Christmas story. Oscar told the others that Santa needs to be at the party, as one of the other young patients worries that Santa won't find her at GH. Drew called Jason about the suit.

The hospital was the focus of most of the action at Christmas. We had Monica and Bobbie argue as to who gets to read the story. Monica won (rock, paper, scissors) and Bobbie had to dress as Santa Claus. Unfortunately the costume was too small, but Jason, Carly and Sonny found a replacement. The end of the episode had the majority of the characters at the hospital hearing the story.

This episode was pretty good for a Christmas show. The fact that Monica mentioned Steve Hardy and Alan made it even better. Sometimes nostalgia is good for the soul.
