Thoughts about "Neighbours" - June 2018

Below is my June entry about "Neighbours" for 2018.

Xanthe wanted experience in the medical field, but not as a nurse. It seems like she likes Cassius, but has been ignoring him for Piper's sake. Xanthe and Terese had tried to get Cassius and Piper closer. This failed though they realized he was a good person, though afraid of cats. Cassius and Piper had a moment, but he acted like it didn't happen due to Piper's issues with Tyler. Terese hid a letter Tyler sent to Piper through his family, but it was discovered. Piper decided to move on, and not look at it though Terese did. We also found out that Cassius, was the book underliner. Ned returned to town, and he still is in love with Lauren. He couldn't live and work so closely to his stepmother. Lauren visited, and Terese said she would help Ned and get him a place to stay and a job.

Fay decided to leave town to be closer to Tyler, who was having issues with prison. Gary had tried to be nice to her, but Sheila wanted him to use her to get her job back. Gary liked Fay, but didn't want to date her. Sheila lost her job due to her failing training about dealing with employees and harrassment. She did well with Toadie as his assistant, but was bored. Eventually she did get her job back, which was hard on Shane, who would have been next in line.

Dipi wanted to produce her musical, and had a flapper themed event. Shane with Kirsha's support changed the water at the Flametree to recycled urine. This was a disaster, even if the liquid tasted fine due to health code. While Dipi was getting her dreams, Shane felt left out. Due to the loss of revenue, another fundraiser was in the offing. This was a dance-a-thon, where the couples had to touch each other and dance until they dropped though they were allowed bathroom breaks. The winners were Aaron and David. With Mark's help, they caused Amy to lose, as she was obsessed with winning, and it was 24 hours. She was taking something to keep her awake, but if she took too much, she would need the bathroom, which is exactly what happened. Cassius and Piper had another moment during this event.

Elly and Mark were getting closer, and Ned had no interest in being with Elly again, though everyone thought he did due to his black eye. That was an accident, as he walked into Leo's punch.

Mishti acted out and slept with Dilhan. He took a video of her, and posted it online. He got away with it, except for a fine. She later freaked out and pulled a gun on Chloe thinking it was an intruder.

Amy's obsessive attitude came out after she started to steal, when she accidentally took a necklace while out with Chloe. This was due to the stress of losing Jimmy, (kleptomania) based on a teen moving to another country is a new kind of illness. Amy lied and said she was a drunk, but eventually told Paul the truth.

Toadie and Sonya decided to do IVF again. Paul then found Andrea's location. Willow and Sindi also appeared. Toadie and Sonya were upset to find out that Andrea had a baby, and in flashbacks we found out the timing. It is unknown if baby Hugo is Toadie's son.

Finn was manipulating Bea, who was becoming good friends with Yashvi. Finn proposed to Bea, and she said yes, and he made it look like he was getting better, and would be leaving the wheelchair. Finn wasn't injured and could walk. He also lied and stated he had MS to get on Rita's MS trial team. He is avoiding everyone who knew him from before, and used another name. Susan and Karl had high hopes for the MS trial, but with Finn involved as Patrick, they would probably be dashed.

Early in the month, Steph and her boys left town. They were going to be a family. Unlike many others from Ramsey Street, they had a lowkey without everyone hugging and waving them goodbye.

Those were the highlights of June 2018. Once Steph left, she was taken out of the clip with Toadie/Sonya/Nell. Cassius and Ned were added also. I'm glad Ned is back, though it is too bad that he is still hung up on Lauren, though a part of me is glad that Brad is suffering even if we can't see it. He has cheated numerous times on wives, so having it happen to him, may be just desserts.
