Days: Kristen's Gone Again

Eileen Davidson's most recent stint as Kristen Blake Dimera has come to an end. Below are my thoughts on her latest departure from Salem.

Her last air date for now was Thursday, November 6, 2014. The character was last seen being wheeled on a hospital gurney into surgery. Theresa (Jen Lilley) was pregnant with Brady's (Eric Martsolf) baby, and Kristen decided to steal an embryo. Brady and Theresa have been in an on and off relationship for months, but the feelings aren't mutual. Since Days is supposed to be more "realistic" this was was a surprising twist.

Kristen leveraged John's (Drake Hogestyn) comatose state for her own gain. She had a cure that would wake him up, but would only get him the special drug if she wasn't going to get into legal trouble for raping Eric (Greg Vaughn). Once John woke up, everyone in town was glad except for Theresa. She was the reason that John was in a coma, and was letting Brady think he was the culprit. Kristen found out the truth and told a skeptical Brady. Eventually he knew it was true because there was a recorded conversation, and he felt betrayed by everyone other than Kristen.

While in Salem, Kristen nearly slept with Daniel (Shawn Christian) over her disappointment about Brady and his despair over Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). This was very ironic considering Kristen's return was initially about how she kidnapped Daniel. It didn't feel like he was suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, but it may have made more sense if he had. Sadly, Brady was nearly ready to listen to Kristen as she was the one person who wasn't lying to him. Seeing Kristen and Daniel being sexual made Brady turn his back on his former fiance yet again.

Those were the main highlights of Kristen's latest return to Salem. (She also was in the EJ story, but I wrote about that in the Sami left Salem post.)
