OLTL: Thoughts on Episodes 33 & 34

Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episodes 33 & 34 (July 29, 2013) of One Life to Live.

Note: I number these without the "More episodes" included in the count. On Hulu, these are episodes 45 & 46.

Episode 33:

Michelle and Matthew are at Shelter, Jeffrey comes up to them and they see Dani with Arturo. Michelle recognizes Arturo, but doesn't know from where. Rama goes up to them and they order lemon drops. Matthew gave Rama money to give more information on Bandini, and Michelle shared the information she knew about Dani/Arturo. Dani comes up to her friends and defends herself. Destiny appears and Jeffrey goes to dance with her. Michelle tells Matthew that Jeffrey doesn't like or trust her. Destiny goes to say hello to Dani, and Jeffrey goes along. They are introduced to Arturo, who goes for more champagne. Michelle notices Dani's earrings and how they are expensive. Matthew asks Dani if Arturo is going to be her sugar daddy, and she retorts that at least she didn't have to order him on the internet. Dani tells Arturo that she wants to go as her friends aren't being friends to her. Destiny, Jeffrey, Matthew and Michelle have shots and talk about Dani. Destiny gets a call from the Banner and has to leave for work. Destiny and Jeffrey share a kiss at the Banner office. Rama asks Cutter where Natalie is as he was now alone. Matthew becomes uncomfortable when Michelle says she doesn't think either of his roommates will be home later that night.

At the coffee shop, Jack calls his teacher Kate on the phone. He misses her, and she's grading papers, but won't see him. David runs into Jack, and they decide to discuss women problems. Jack shares how he's involved with an older woman. David admits that he moved out of the house, but agrees to take Jack to Kate's place on Elm Street. Kate picks up a vase and finds Jack at her window. Jack isn't able to convince Kate to let him stay. David and Jack are back at the coffee shop and continue to discuss their respective situations with women.

Clint calls Viki and says he is coming over to Llanfair. Viki realizes that Clint is drunk, and doesn't want him to visit. Clint shows up on Viki's door. She threatens to call the police, slams the door on him as he says that he loves her. Clint goes to Shelter, but Diego won't let him in, it seems like Diego has no idea who Clint is. He feels the old cowboy is already drunk. Clint asks for Blair, but she's gone for the night. Clint gets so frustrated with Diego that he punches the other man. A random extra uses their phone to take a video of Clint's punch.

Todd and Blair talk about the plan again and how it will be in action in 24 hours. There is a note from the tattoo people under the door.

General thoughts about this episode:

David and Jack's interaction was unexpected, but considering how many years they've known each other a nice change of pace. Viki not wanting Clint to come in was understandable, but he is obviously a mess. Where is Nigel? Diego didn't know who Clint Buchanan was, which was surprising though he may spend all his time at work never reading the news. Destiny, Jeffrey, Matthew, Dani and Michelle hanging out at Shelter as a group…though why didn't Dani go somewhere else with Arturo if she wants no one to know.

Episode 34:

Matthew and Michelle find Clint with Diego the doorman who has a bloody lip. Cutter comes up and wonders what is going on also. Matthew calls his mother Nora to ask her to get his dad Bo to come downtown. Clint is taken away, but he just wants to dance. Cutter doesn't want Diego to press charges, and then calls Natalie about her father. Nikki doesn't know why Cutter needs to talk to Natalie in person. Nora offers Clint some coffee and he says he doesn't want any. Bo then threatens to arrest Clint. Viki shows up because Nora called her. Viki starts berating Clint, and says that all he wanted was to see her again. Cutter goes to Natalie's apartment and tells her what happened with Clint. She wants to go see him, but Cutter convinces her to stay and they kiss. Rama tries to convince Diego to go to the doctor, Nikki suggests Diego has a little blow to make him feel better. Natalie and Cutter are talking on her couch, and how he has to act like the life of the party all of the time as part of his job. Back at Bo and Nora's home, Clint is sleeping it off while Viki, Nora and Bo talk about him. Clint wakes up and wants to go back to work. Bo gets frustrated and then arrests him for what he did putting him in the drunk tank.

Destiny admits that she enjoyed Jeffrey's kiss. They decide it is weird to be kissing in the office. Dani brings Arturo back to her apartment, which is much nicer than he expected. They start talking about Todd and how that is partly why she decided to study psychology. Arturo starts to flirt with Dani. She tries to kiss him, and he stops it. Matthew and Michelle walk in the apartment. Arturo says that he has to leave and that he'll see her at the gala. Michelle and Matthew make comments about Arturo, which offend Dani, who decides to go back to her mother's home for the night. Jeffrey decides to tell Matthew about his feelings for Destiny. Matthew admits it is fine that Jeffrey and Destiny seem to like one another.

Dorian tells Jack that she wants to talk about her break up with David. Jack surprises her, by already knowing and that he loves her more. Jack tells Dorian that the girl he was dating ended it. Dorian says one day that he will look back on it and laugh. He retorts that he doubts that will happen with her and David. Jack wants to take her out to get some fresh air, and she says she doesn't have any sweats.

Blair is reading the note from the tattoo group to Todd. They say he has to leave his family in 24 hours and have no contact with them to keep them safe. He failed to kill Victor, and he is now in their custody. Todd says he has to go, but Blair thinks there is something they can do as she cries. Hotel Cinema's Fire Escape plays again. Blair and Todd go to the sofa and hug sadly.

General thoughts about this episode:

While Matthew may be okay with Jeffrey and Destiny now it is possible that he may eventually have issues with them later. Bo, Nora and Viki seemed to be judging Clint for his actions. That being said why would Clint be driving himself around Llanview is this supposed to be another way he is out of control as he didn't have a driver. Jack with Dorian showed how he is caught in the middle of their martial woes. Blair and Todd have been dealt another bad hand, but at least Blair knows the truth of the situation.
