GH: Special Jason and Sam Episode

A very special episode of General Hospital featuring Jason and Sam aka Jasam aired on Thursday, September 6, 2012. This is two episodes before the time slot move. Keep reading if you want to know more about it.

We also see Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Steve Burton) talk about their situation and what if things were different with the baby. Sam and Jason talking is mixed in with imaginary scenes of what would have happened if Sam hadn't spoken to Heather (Robin Mattson) all those months ago. In the present time, we see Sam and Jason talk about different things like the situation with the water. Jason wants to go and find out where the counteragent is. Sam begs him to stay with her as the only thing keeping her calm is discussing this dream story. In the present, Sam mentions how the baby frowned just like him. Sam talks about how she wishes she could live in her fantasy world.

--Fantasy Portions--

Sam talks to Heather and leaves before Heather starts her plan. Sam goes home to the penthouse, there is a voice card from Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and Sam and Jason make love in front of the fire. We see an imaginary flashback to May 2012. Sam is practicing lamaze breathing, and Jason comes in smiling. Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) is giving the class. They mention the focus items (dragon and phoenix), which is a callback to their wedding.

Now it is June 2012. We see Sam's baby shower. Maxie (Kirsten Storms) is measuring Sam's pregnant body, at her waist she is 38 inches and her younger sister Molly (Haley Pullos) is the winner. Other attendees at the shower are Kristina (Lindsey Morgan), Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Jason. Monica gave the baby Goodnight Moon as that was Jason's favorite book as a wee one. 100% organic cotton preshrunk baby black teeshirt was Spinelli's gift for the baby. During the party her water just broke and Spinelli grabs the camera. After everyone else runs out, Maxie apologizes to Spinelli for everything that happened. They happily kiss as they are reunited. At the hospital, there is a lot of chatter, while Jason and Sam focus on each other. Jason and Monica talk and she mentions how Alan is watching over them. Spinelli and Maxie come in and Spinelli gives Jason the focus items. We see Sam in labor and Kelly (Minae Noji) is delivering him. After the baby is born, Sam tells Jason that she has a new man in her life and she hopes he doesn't mind. Of course, this doesn't bother him. Monica is holding the baby, as Jason calls Carly with the news. Monica apologizes to Jason for all the mistakes she and Alan made as parents. While Alexis is holding the baby, Sam asks how she feels being a grandmother, she says she feels blessed. They talk about all Alexis lost when her father took Sam from her. He's the first Davis boy.

Sam and Jason have gone back home to the penthouse with the baby. There are new items left in the living room. There is a note: "A high chair fit for a future chairman of the board. Love, Edward" There is a new high chair along with a huge teddy bear. There is a college education trust for the baby. They still don't have a name for the child to fill out the trust. They didn't like Molly or Spinelli's name for the baby. Sam wants to name the baby Daniel after her deceased brother Danny, and Jason choses Edward for his middle name.

We see Sam with a year old Emily and a much older Danny and Jason come out to the girls. They give Sam a present of an album including a picture of Jason with Mickey ears at Disneyland (though we don't see it.) Jason gives Sam a picture of the whole family which we do see, which is perfect picture. During the end parts, with Sam and Jason we hear the underscoring of "Just you and me" by Rie Sinclair. This plays during part of the real world dialogue as well. Sam says how they lost each other and she lost her son. They both seem wistful and sad.

The show ends in the present day.

While these scenes are going on with Jason and Sam. We also see what Heather has been up to since she left Port Charles. She wants to get back to town due to the pathogen in the water as there is someone she needs to see before the whole town dies. Heather wants to make things right when there is still time. Heather calls Steve (Scott Reeves), and he said that his mother is no longer that anymore. She was trying to apologize. Heather is talking to a nurse, and wishes people would forgive her for the crimes she did all those years ago. Earlier the nurse thought Heather should talk to her therapist. Heather then kills her, steals her clothing including the badge and tries to escape. We see Heather in front of a house with the address 1970 Lindbrook after she has escaped. The door opens and it is Tea Delgado (Florencia Lozano) holding Sam and Jason's baby.

Considering Steve Burton's departure from GH is imminent, I appreciate the program taking the time to get Sam and Jason fans their dream. What is surprising is this would have been planned before Steve had told the show he was leaving, which makes it even more sweet. It was different to see Sam and Jason together and committed with their family. While it was only a fantasy, it was good the show gave them some sort of happy last hurrah.
