The third episode of Dirty Soap aired on E! Here are my thoughts on it.
The main thrust of the episode was the friendship, which fell apart between Kirsten Storms (Maxie on GH) and Farah Fath (Gigi on OLTL). The girls were in each other’s’ lives since they were teens on Days of Our Lives (as Belle and Mimi). Over the years, they had ups and downs, but stopped speaking as their relationship had gotten that ugly. Nadia Bjorlin (former Chloe on Days) was celebrating her birthday with a party, and both Kirsten and Farah would be attending. They saw each other at the party and it didn’t go well. They agreed to meet later to discuss things, but they realized that they would sometimes have to be in the same room together.
Nadia’s birthday celebration continued with a getaway to Napa with her boyfriend Brandon Beemer (Owen, B&B), Galen Gering (Rafe, Days) and his wife Jenna. This was the first time Jenna would be away from their kids. Jenna called home more than once to check on the boys, whom she missed. Nadia went with barely more than the clothes on her back. Accidentally her garment bag with the majority of her clothes was left at home and they only released it once they were in Napa. Nadia was also upset with Brandon over his gift of an iPad along with how he didn’t grab all of her clothes.
Kelly Monaco (Sam, GH) had to deal with her character Sam getting married. She and Kirsten joked about all the bad things that could happen to Sam that day. We saw Sam’s television Mom Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) along with some behind the scenes blocking footage with Kelly and Steve Burton (Jason) when the characters got married. Kelly also spent some time away from her job with her pals and behaved in a way that would fit well on youtube.
This episode didn’t entertain me as much as episode two, but the previews look interesting. We may finally get information about Kirsten’s medical leave, see Kelly interact with her former love Mike, and along with finding out if Farah will get John Paul to propose to her.
This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.
