This is my stream of consciousness style review of the four daytime soap operas that aired in 2013. They are short and sweet and about 100 words each. (I already did wrap-ups of All My Children and One Life to Live earlier in the year, which is why they are not included in this entry.)
The Bold & the Beautiful: Due to suffering from PPD, Katie pushed Brooke towards Bill. Brooke and Bill fell for each other, they slept together, but she miscarried. Taylor trashed her relationship with Eric by sharing this news, and she left LA. At the end of the year, Ridge returned to town. Liam and Steffy married and divorced as Steffy miscarried their child. Hope was torn between Liam and his newly found half-brother Wyatt. Rick was torn between Maya and Caroline though eventually he chose Caroline, while Maya moved on to Carter after doing a web comedy series with him.
Days of our Lives: Eric was raped by Kristen and the video was made public. Nicole was devastated as Eric blamed her. Kristen's relationship with Brady ended and she left town. JJ and Jeannie (now Theresa) came back to Salem and both were drug users. Daniel and Jennifer continued to go back and forth with their relationship. Rafe was in a coma for months, and his relationship with Kate ended as he moved on with newbie Jordan. EJ and Sami were recommitted. Will and Sonny allowed Gabby to move in with Adrianna and they raised the baby as a family.
General Hospital: John, Starr, and Todd became Silas, Kiki and Franco. Anna and Duke got back together after he returned from the dead. The legion of evil: Jerry, Obrecht and Faison made trouble, but were easily defeated. Lulu got a new face after being frozen by Nik's Dad. Nik fell for Britt, who had some secrets. Robin came back from the dead as Patrick was marrying Sabrina. Morgan and Michael fell for mother and daughter Ava and Kiki Jerome. Sam discovered that Julian Jerome was her dad. Maxie had her child with Spinelli though he left town with baby Georgie.
The Young & the Restless: Katherine passed away during a trip around the world and gave her wealth to grandson Devon. Delia was killed by a hit and run driver. Paul and Cricket got married again. Victor and Nikki reunited and rebuilt the ranch. Phyllis fell down a flight of stairs after a fight with Sharon. Sharon continues to lie about Jack being Summer's father. Nick's engagement to Avery ended due to her underlying feelings for newcomer Dylan. Nikki admitted that she was Dylan's mother after having lied about it for decades. Hillary tried to ruin Neil's life, but didn't succeed.
These are my short summaries for the year. Obviously they aren't complete, but I wanted to see how much I could write with such a limited amount of characters.
