This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.

B&B: Latest Casting News
Tonight TVGuide.com scooped that Ridge has been recast on "The Bold and the Beautiful". Included in this post are my thoughts about this situation.
Ronn Moss left "The Bold and the Beautiful" last year after being one of the show's original cast members as Ridge. Brad Bell, the show's executive producer, vowed to recast the part and now it has happened. Thorsten Kaye, who is best known for being an ABC soap performer has been given this role. He was last seen as his All My Children character Zach Slater during the Prospect Park revival of the show. Though he was a guest actor on the prime time series Smash, he is most known for his daytime work. Thorsten also was Ian on Port Charles and Patrick on One Life to Live.
If you'd ask me who I'd see playing the role of Ridge, Thorsten wouldn't have made the list. It isn't anything against him as an actor, but I just have a hard time hearing him in the role due to his accent. I wonder will he have to dump it to play this part. This also doesn't bode well for All My Children, as we finally have confirmation that the contracts the actors' signed are null and void. So basically if they ever are up and running again, they will have to start again from scratch.
I feel for those people who love Ronn Moss in the role because this is such a departure from who Ridge has been over the years. Hopefully this will work out for B&B, but we shall see come December.
