This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.

Y&R: Goodbye Tucker
On Tuesday January 29, 2013, Tucker McCall (Stephen Nichols) left Genoa City. The Young and the Restless character, originally played by William Russ, ended up being Katherine's (Jeanne Cooper) son.
Tucker went to the Chancellor mansion to say goodbye to his mother. Cane (Daniel Goddard) was with Katherine, but Tucker went out of his way to attack him to convince the other man to leave. Kay hadn't received the message that he was coming to the house. When alone, Tucker told his mother about his plans. He had wrapped up all of the loose ends except those relating to his son Devon (Bryton McClure). Devon and Tucker finally were getting along better, but he needed to go to Hong Kong for work indefinitely.
Katherine and Tucker were civil to one another, though usually they would spar. Tucker admitted that he forgave her for giving him up for adoption and that he didn't regret the time they shared together as adults. He walked out, and we saw Kay break down knowing her son was leaving. She almost said "I love you" to herself in regards to Tucker, but couldn't get out the words.
Tucker, as Kay's son, could have been a force in town due to the connection. For the most part, the character was wasted in romances that didn't work long term. I appreciated the character most in scenes with Katherine or Devon.
