This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.

GH: Trey is Dead
On Monday, January 14, 2013, Trey (Erik Valdez) passed away as his plugged was pulled on General Hospital. Trey was injured in the New Year's Eve car crash and was determined to be brain dead.
Trey and his former wife Kristina (Lindsey Morgan) decided to leave Port Charles for Los Angeles and see if they would renew their relationship. On their way out of town, they got into a crash with Trey's mother Connie (Kelly Sullivan), Starr (Kristen Alderson) and Michael (Chad Duell). Connie had Johnny (Brandon Barash) in her trunk. Sadly, Ellie (Emily Wilson) was run over in the accident and may be paralyzed for good.
Connie felt a lot of guilt over Trey's injuries even if up until that point, she seemed to care nothing about him. Everyone tried to convince Connie to allow Trey to die as he was an organ donor and brain dead. She refused, but Kristina's mom Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) got a court order to allow it.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) found Connie at "The Floating Rib" and told her what was going to happen at the hospital. Connie rushed to GH, and was there before he died. Olivia (Lisa Locicero), in one of her moments, heard Trey and agreed that this is what he wanted. Olivia shared with Trey how she wished things had been different, as he could have been raised in the Falconeri family.
At least Trey's death was not in vain, as his organs can be used to help others. When the character first appeared he was not a "good" person, but at least in time his actions redeemed him as he risked his life for Kristina.
