Days: 12,000 Episode

Days of Our Lives had its 12,000 episode on Friday, January 11, 2013. Here is a short summary of the show.

The episode began with Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) as herself telling everyone it was the 12,000 show. It is the morning of Nick (Blake Berris) and Gabi's (Camila Banus) wedding.

Rafe (Galen Gerring) and Sami (Alison Sweeney) are having fun on the couch, which is interrupted by Hope (Kristian Alfonso). Rafe leaves and Sami talks about what is going on with him to Hope. They are both happy that Sami is back together with Rafe.

Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) tells her daughter Abigail (Kate Mansi) what happened last night, as Daniel (Shawn Christian) found out that Parker was his son. Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), who is back in town, is try and reignite her relationship with her ex-husband Daniel. She goes to the hospital to see him, but he blows her off once he shares who they  should use as Parker's pediatrician. Later Daniel reassures Jennifer that he wants to be with her. After leaving the hospital, Daniel and Chloe spend some time together with Parker and talking about him.

Kate (Lauren Koslow) tells Lucas (Bryan Datillo) that Chloe is back in town. She shares the news that Phillip isn't Parker's father. Billie (Lisa Rinna) shows up and the three talk about the situation. Lucas is glad because that means that perhaps Jennifer will finally leave Daniel as he hates the other man.

Before the wedding Will (Chandler Massey) and Gabi talk. She offers to make him the godfather of the child Nick plans to raise as his own. Nick freaks out as he doesn't want Will to be the godparent to his biological child. After Will leaves, Nick explains that it is because it will make things harder for Will in the future.

Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Chad (Casey Deidrick) talk about how Chad is going to the wedding even though he hates Gabi and Nick. Chad explains how he is doing it to be with Abigail.

Gabi and Sami have a bonding moment, though Sami has no idea when she says she could be like an Aunt or a grandma to the baby, that she is the grandma.

Rafe, Nick and Will are together with Eric (Greg Vaughn) at the church. Eric is nervous as this is his first time performing a wedding ceremony. When alone, Nick and Will make up, as Rafe goes to see Gabi with a telephone. She is thrilled that her mother isn't upset over the pregnancy.

Maggie, Victor (John Aniston) and Caroline (Peggy McKay) chat, about how Caroline gave Nick a chance at a job, and Caroline is glad for Daniel about Parker.

Chad and Abigail are together at the church as are Sonny and Will. Sonny is surprised at how quickly Will moved into his place and is looking forward to dancing at the reception.

The wedding begins with Nick and Eric at the altar. Sami rushes in, Allie is the flower girl, Abigail and Will as maid of honor and best man walk in together. Rafe walks his sister down the aisle.

Gabi's dress is reminiscent of what Princess Kate wore. We see the rest of the ceremony in montage form, we hear a bit from Hope and Maggie. Eric asks if anyone has an objection, but no one does. Nick and Gabi say their vows, but before Eric can pronounce them married, Chad stops the proceedings. He shares that Gabi isn't wedding the father of her baby.

While this episode ended with a good cliffhanger, it was frustrating that for many people Days of Our Lives was preempted for a news conference. The other major networks didn't break in, so I understand being annoyed. I had to catch the episode online to see what happened. Hopefully what happened at Gabi and Nick's wedding will create more story for the lives of those in Salem.
