On the August 21, 2019 episode, Drew Cain (Billy Miller) left Port Charles and "General Hospital", below are my thoughts.
Drew's departure was "story-dictated", but there was more plot for the character. The last thing that happened was Franco got Drew's memories of his early life, his relationship with Kim, and his time in the military. (Basically everything before the memory mapping took place.) Franco didn't want to be Franco, but to stay Drew, and while watching this, since Drew and young Franco knew each other, it was weird how this was not mentioned.
Drew didn't say goodbye to his family or kids, he just left in the hospital elevator. It was a non-ending, and if we didn't know that Billy Miller was gone, I'd think it was a vacation leave. I wonder if GH did this style on purpose so the average person who doesn't read social media or soap press would never know.
